Renaux Ready to Go Full-Gas in Latvia

Kemea #yamaha Official MX Team rider Maxime Renaux will start in Latvia this weekend for the second time this year on his YZ250F in the EMX250 category. The 2015 FIM Junior World Champion has recovered from an early-season hand injury and says his main goal this year is gaining experience.

"At the first race of the French Championship I broke my finger, nothing serious, but it was ten days of waiting and now that its better, I'm ok. I have to ride with a splint, but for me this is alright," said Renaux.

Renaux made his 2016 EMX250 race debut on a rainy weekend at Valkenswaard with challenges in both motos, and said he sees Latvia as a chance to go full-gas again.

"Valkenswaard was difficult for many reasons, but Im ok and the bike is too. The YZ250F is a really good motorcycle, and since I started riding it last October it has come to feel just like my YZ125 last year," Renaux said.

The French teenager raced over the winter in northeast France in search of dry weather, and then made a final YZ125 appearance at Enduropale du Touquet where he came second in the 90-minute sand race in a photo-finish.

"I can't say I'm a sand specialist, but I rode all winter at Loon-Plage because it's the only track that's not flooded. I can ride sand, and I like it, but I have to work for it," he said.

With a teenager's busy life to balance schoolwork and a promising professional motocross career, 15-year old Renaux said he looks at every race as a chance to learn and improve.

"No one single race has the most important priority for me this year, and my goal for May is to take in some experience, enjoy it and give all I can for the rest of the season. Each race puts new sensations down for the future, so I take each day with that state of mind," Renaux said.

June sticks out for Renaux, with races in England and Italy at the end of the month that he said are favorites for him and his Kemea #yamaha Official MX Team.

"Matterley Basin and Maggiora are both very nice tracks, I know them from the past year and I am really happy to ride them again this year," Renaux said.

Renaux will line up in Kegums, Latvia on Saturday, April 30 for qualifying at 12:30 local time (GMT+3), and #moto one at 17:40. Final EMX250 GP Latvia results will be available after the second 25-minute plus 2 lap #moto finishes around noon on Sunday, May 1.
