Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix – Qualifying – Saturday

Weather: dry, 31-30°C air, 37-32°C track The #sauber #f1 Team finished qualifying ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix with one car in Q2: At his 50th Grand Prix weekend Marcus Ericsson was 16th, while Felipe Nasr ended Q1 in P18 with his #sauber C35-Ferrari. For tomorrow’s night race, which will take place in front of the fascinating Singapore skyline, tyre management as well as the pit stop strategy will be crucial. Besides that, safety-car phases could also have an influence on the race, which are typical for the Singapore Grand Prix. Marcus Ericsson (car number 9): #sauber C35-Ferrari (Chassis 04/Ferrari) Qualifying: 16th in Q2 (1:46.427 min / ultrasoft tyres) 3 rd practice: 19th (1:47.956 min / ultrasoft tyres / 20 laps) “It is positive that I reached Q2 today. Overall it has been a difficult weekend for me, as I haven’t been able to get a good feeling for the car during the practice sessions. Therefore, it makes it even nicer that we managed to make it into the second qualifying session. It is a good effort, but we need to keep pushing to close the gap to the midfield.” Felipe Nasr (car number 12): #sauber C35-Ferrari (Chassis 03/Ferrari) Qualifying: 18th in Q1 (1:46.860 min / ultrasoft tyres) 3 rd practice: 17th (1:47.293 min / ultrasoft tyres / 18 laps) “It was a disappointing qualifying for me. I was surprised by the drop of performance in qualifying, as I felt comfortable in the car during the free practice sessions. We went in the right direction in regards to the car’s balance. Then in qualifying I struggled with the rear grip on my first try; on the second set of tyres I felt that my tyre temperatures were not in the right working window. Anything can happen here in Singapore, so we keep fighting.”
