Nissan has kicked off its countdown to #nismofestival at Japan’s Fuji International Speedway supported by Motul. Held on December 11, this will be the 19th running of #nismofestival that brings together the stars and cars from Nissan's global motorsport activities – both past and present. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Fuji Speedway, historic #nissan race cars that have a deep connection with the circuit will not only be on display but are also planned to run on the course. Along with this, currently active #nissan race car drivers from Japan and abroad, team principals and legendary former drivers will converge on Fuji to take part in fan events and autograph sessions. To commemorate the end of season #event, NISMO has commenced its NISMOmemts countdown on social media – highlighting 23 key achievements from the 2016 season on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Star drivers on site will include Super GT GT500 2016 race winners Tsugio Matsuda, Ronnie Quintarelli, JP de Oliveira, Hironobu Yasuda, Masataka Yanagida and Daiki Sasaki. Additionally, GT Academy ace Jann Mardenborough, former GT1 World Championship winner Michael Krumm, and legendary #nissan racers -2- Yoshikazu Sunako, Moto Kitano, Haruhito Yanagida, Takao Wada, Toshio Suzuki, Masahiro Hasemi and Kazuyoshi Hoshino will be there. Cars on track and on display will include next year's new #nissan #gtrnismogt500 Super GT entry, the 2015 championship winning GT-R GT500, the SpaFrancorchamps 24 Hour 1991 Skyline GT-R race winner, and the GT1 2011 World Championship-winning GT-R. A host other top #nissan performers – including Super GT, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Group C sportscar and Group A touring car contenders – will also be on display.
