Mille Miglia celebrates 90 years with many records

The #millemiglia of the record books is ready to start with 450 participants, representing 39 nations from five Continents. From Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 May, the race will pass through 200 municipalities, 7 Italian regions and the Republic of San Marino.
Brescia, 16 May 2017: preparations are underway in the City of the #millemiglia to welcome guests from all over the world. Two days to go before the Italian flag will wave to start off car number 1 of the 2017 edition. As tradition demands, car number 1 will be an O.M. 665 Superba, paying homage to the brand from Brescia that won the first Coppa delle #millemiglia, in 1927. For its ninetieth birthday, the Red Arrow presents the thirty-fifth re-evocation with many records. The first record, the number of entries, 705, coming from 43 Countries: for the first time, 39 nations and 5 continents will be represented.
From Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 May, the race will pass through more than 200 municipalities, 7 Italian regions and the Republic of San Marino.
As confirmation of Enzo Ferrari’s famous definition of the #millemiglia: “the only travelling museum in the world”, spectators will watch four legs from Brescia to Rome and back, and admire 450 vintage cars of extraordinary historical, technical and sporting value, belonging to eighty-five different Manufacturers, in hundreds of different models.
These 450 masterpieces of design and mechanics, built before 1957 (the year of the last speed edition), will take part in an automobile show without precedent, along 1.700 km of Italian roads. The show will be even more fascinating by the presence of other 150 cars – produced after 1958 – taking part in the "Ferrari Tribute to Mille Miglia" and the "Mercedes-Benz #millemiglia Challenge", reserved for the mostly modern cars of the two Manufacturers.
