Finished with a great success the 2017 Hardalpitour, the most ‘Hard’ ever!

Absolute record of entries for the 9th edition of this increasingly international adventouring #event.
The bad weather slows down the pace, but doesn’t stop the 470 partecipants heading to #sestriere.

Milan, September 12, 2017 – It has been finished a few hours ago what we can define the Hardalpitour's most 'Hard' of all the nine editions of this adventouring event. And the most international edition, which marked the record of 470 (+ 15%) entries from 21 nations, which have crossed the spectacular high-altitude ex-military white roads along the Italian-French border and the Western Alps, backbone of the HAT routes. Among the countries most represented in this edition Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and Poland... but also special participations are from Serbia, Canada, South Africa and Qatar.

A fter a special evening at the beautiful Theater of the #sanremo Casino, which hosted the dinner, the official presentation of the #event, the technical briefing and the meeting with prestigious guest riders of the adventouring world, the games officially started from #sanremo on Friday night with the departure of the tough riders of HAT Extreme (880 km). The venue continued with the two departures on Saturday, at 10.00 am of the HAT Discovery (360 km) followed by the HAT Classic (520 km). The first part of the trails were marked by a bad meteo with heavy rain that put all participants under hard stress, all drenched deep in the bone. Very much appreciated the rest in Pigna, a small medieval village in the province of Imperia, awarded with the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club. Music and sweet appetizers have welcomed the moto-adventurers who tasted the local specialties and warmed up before going back on track heading to the next checkpoint in Limone Piemonte. Here the riders gathered together under a big tent and appreciate a very welcomed quick dinner as well as some shelter from the rain. After this, the darkness of the night in front heading off to the next rest point of Becetto, 120 km later.

Notwithstanding that, the majority of the participants reached the 2000mt high Sestriere showing a beautiful smile despite the bad weather of the early hours. Huge satisfaction! Together with them the more professional riders who joined the three days of the HAT, the younger Livio Metelli, Manuel Lucchese and Ottavio Missoni, flanked the "old" glories Maurizio Sanna, Bruno Birbes and Claudio Mana. The participation of Ahmed Al-Kuwari, an international-level rider from Qatar, has been prominent, showing first class riding style under unusual conditions. Noteworthy is also the participation of the two Quadro Vehicles crews, who with their tilting Quadro4 traveled throughout the HAT Classic, facing climbs, downhill and rain until #sestriere. An important presence for the 8 th year in-a-row also from the Moto Club Ténéré Italia, attending the HAT with his President Stefano Valla and ten #yamaha motorcycles.

Great attendance of the Main Partners of this #hat2017, who have worked together to set up an excellent hospitality at the HAT Village, providing their expertise and products for all participants, but also for those visitors who have been able to know this world live in Sanremo and Sestriere. YAMAHA has conquered the audience by exposing the YAMAHA T7 adventure concept, much wanted by the fans of the Three Diapason brand. GARMIN provided service for the GPS devices of the participants, while LS2 HELMETS provided official helmets to journalists and some pilot present at the HAT. ANLAS has exposed the full range of its quality-made tires and provided their Capra X model to be tested by journalists and riders. The American company KLIM, for the first time in Italy, presented at the HAT its high-quality adventure gear line, while NaturalBOOM has allowed all participants and visitors to taste the innovative functional drink, made with 100% natural ingredients, to stimulate the mind and the concentration.

A special thanks for the support goes to the Liguria and Piedmont Regions, the Province of Imperia, the Municipalities of Sanremo, Sestriere, Garessio and Limone Piemonte, the ATL of Cuneo area and the Casinò of Sanremo.
HAT 2017 finally ends with another success applauded by all the participants who, despite the adverse climatic conditions, have been able to reach the final destination by coming to a sunny #sestriere. An excellent premise for the 2018 edition that will celebrate the decade of this extraordinary and unique adventure trip !
