STAGE 5 | SAN JUAN DE MARCONA-AREQUIPA Following damage sustained on stage 4, the n°308 PEUGEOT #3008dkr Maxi can now continue the 2018 Dakar thanks to an all-night effort to get it back on the road, which involved the entire team.
After hitting a large rock at kilometre 180 on stage 4 yesterday (Tuesday 9 January) at around 11am, the n°308 PEUGEOT #3008dkr Maxi was stopped in its tracks, with damage to the rear. This damage meant that #cyrildespres / David Castera were unable to continue under their own steam. They had to wait for more than four hours before the competing PEUGEOT assistance truck was able to reach them. After working on the car for four hours, it was able to finally drive to the bivouac at San Juan de Marcona (Peru) where it arrived at about 1am on Wednesday.
