Internazionali d'Italia MX- Riola sardo - RD01

The Internazionali d'Italia MX also marked the start of the 2024 season for TM moto - Steels Dr Jack. The Riola Sardo track was certainly an excellent testing ground, the sandy track being one of the most selective in Europe.

Yago Martinez in the MX2 class and Brando Rispoli in the 125cc class took to the track on Sunday morning eager to make a good start to the new year. At the end of the session a 15th place for Yago and a 9th place for Brando, very close to those in front of them.

Yago had a good start to the first MX2 race and was close to the top ten in the early stages. Unfortunately, a crash on the second lap caused him to lose ground and forced him to stay at the back of the field until the chequered flag, where he finished in 18th place.
He was unable to start the second race due to the knock he suffered in the first. In agreement with the team, it was decided not to take any risks in order not to jeopardise his preparation for the upcoming races.
He is now 22nd in the overall standings.

Brando made a great start to the first 125cc race but crashed in the first corner and had to restart from the back of the pack. After a few laps he was forced to retire as he had damaged the bike in contact with the ground and was unable to continue. In the second race he repeated his good start and was in the top five after the first corner, but this time everything went well and he was able to maintain his pace until the finish. An excellent sixth place for him and the knowledge that he can be among the protagonists on future occasions.
After this race he is 14th in the standings.

The next and final round of the Internazionali d'Italia MX will take place in Mantua next weekend.

YAGO MARTINEZ: "Once the first race of the year is over we'll take all the positive information and meet in Mantova to do even better! We are ready, we just have to put all the pieces together and good results will surely come".

BRANDO RISPOLI: "The first round of the Internazionali d'Italia MX was unlucky. The qualifying started well, although I was not in the top five, the feeling with the track was very good for the heats. In the first race I crashed and retired, but in the second I managed to finish sixth. I am happy with the work we have done on the bike, we are at a good point both in terms of suspension and engine, physically I am responding very well. I would like to thank TM Racing, Ivano Zanatta, Simone Lorenzoni and especially Mario Resti, see you in Mantua".
