Mercedes-AMG DTM driver Gary Paffett takes on ambassadorial role for Laureus Sport for Good Foundation

Full throttle for a good cause – Gary Paffett has been chosen as a Laureus Sport for Good Foundation ambassador. Other well-known Laureus ambassadors include Fredi Bobic, who was a member of Germany’s 1996 UEFA EURO-winning squad, Olympic skiing champion Hermann Maier, MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg and former Mercedes-Benz DTM driver Ralf Schumacher. “I am very proud to have been nominated as a Laureus ambassador,” said Gary Paffett. “I think that the work done by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation is a great way of bringing joy to children and young people in need by means of sport. Hopefully, I can assist the Foundation in this work.” Laureus connects people around the world, always with the aim of harnessing the power of sport to raise public awareness and achieve social improvement. The worldwide Laureus movement is composed of three core elements: the Laureus World Sports Academy, the Laureus World Sports Awards and the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. Since its inception, Laureus has raised over €60 million for more than 150 projects in 35 countries, which have improved the lives of more than 1.5 million underprivileged children and young people around the world. The Foundation focuses particularly on problems that affect today’s younger generation: poverty, social exclusion, gun culture, gang violence and discrimination.
