Ferrari Racing Days in Shanghai – New XX Programmes car FXX-K debuts at Greater China

This weekend the 2015 Ferrari Racing Days, which is the biggest annual event organized by Ferrari Greater China, was hosted in Shanghai International Circuit. Around 35,000 Ferrari customers, fans, partners, sponsors and VIP guests joined together to share their passion for the Prancing Horse and celebrate the true racing spirit and unique Ferrari lifestyle.

Ferrari has been promoting racing culture in China since the day that the first Ferrari entered decades ago. Prancing horse brought many driving programs to Greater China over the past years, and Ferrari Challenge APAC and Ferrari Racing Days is one of the most important events to share the racing culture with super sports car lovers. Last year, the first Chinese pilot in history Guan Yu Zhou was signed by Ferrari Driver Academy which was definitely a big step for China’s racing sports development. By now, Guan Yu Zhou has been part of Maranello’s Ferrari Driver Academy for one year and proved himself in Formula 4 and related races.

Guan Yu Zhou also took a video to celebrate this carnival with present fans and owners. “This is my first year approaching formulae and I’m currently racing Formula 4. In the latest race of the Italian Formula 4 Championship, I managed to get second place in the third race and won one pole position. In 2015 season, I hope to stand on the podium in at least two races. I hope to see you all again in Shanghai.”

Highlights of this weekend includes Greater China premiere of FXX-K. This model won the title of Best of the Best by Red Dot which is one of the most prestigious design award in the world. FXX-K was designed on Maranello’s first hybrid model, LaFerrari, and was produced exclusively for track with spectacularly efficient aerodynamics and an exceptional engine. A select group of Ferrari owners are involved in the technical collaboration programme called XX Programmes. With great anticipation, a great show went on between FXX-K、FXX and 599XX on Sunday’s afternoon. Andrea Bertolini, Scuderia Ferrari test driver and Ferrari driver in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), was at the wheel of FXX-K, featuring simulated starts and wheel to wheel duels with other 2 drivers making the highlights of Ferrari Racing days.

The third round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Asia Pacific went on at Shanghai International Circuit this weekend. Consisted of three different groups, including Trofeo Pirelli, Pirelli AM and Coppa Shell classification, exquisite driving performance left a memorable experience to Ferrari tifosi.

Off track, numerous entertainment and customer experience programs around the paddock, brought the Ferrari lifestyle to all visitors. Ferrari full range of current models lined up in the paddock area, as well as many classic models of Ferrari history, such as the legendary Enzo Ferrari, one-off 599 Chinese special edition and extreme sports car 599 GTO.

The success of the 2015 Ferrari Racing Days was confirmed by Matteo Torre, Ferrari newly appointed President and CEO of Ferrari Greater China, when he attended a press conference to express his passion on Ferrari Racing Days: “It has been the consecutive fifth year for Ferrari to held Ferrari Racing Days in Greater China, which has now become a very important annual festival for our owners, fans and enthusiasts. It has also become an attraction for people not only from Greater China, but also from the Asia Pacific region every year. Ferrari is aiming to stimulate its ultimate racing culture forward here as a long term commitment.”
