Stars in the Principality: Every year, the Monaco Grand Prix attracts people from the world of sport and entertainment. They all want to get a look behind the scenes and see the cars up close. Last weekend, we spotted a number of stars, including actress Rosamund Pike as well as Ronan and Storm Keating, who were in Monaco as guests of IWC. Claudio Ranieri, coach to English premier league champions Leicester City, was also seen in the Silver Arrows garage. Pop singer Justin Bieber joined Lewis Hamilton on Sunday to celebrate the world champion's success at the highlight of the season, staged on the streets of the Principality. Actress Gabrielle Union, her husband, Dwyane Wade and his Miami Heat team-mate Chris Bosh were among other guests invited along by the reigning world champion.

Speed & Style: The glittering, glamourous highlight of the year in Monaco is the perfect place to combine #racing performance and the last word in luxury - both on land and on water! And so, Lewis Hamilton showed the world the #racing performance of the Cigarette #racing 50 Marauder #amg Monaco Concept - inspired by the current #formula1 Silver Arrow. Nico Rosberg on the other hand demonstrated the world of up-to-the-minute luxury with the new S-Class Cabrio and the Mercedes-Benz Style ARROW460 - Granturismo luxury motor yacht. Successful outing in Eifel: Three Mercedes-AMG #dtm drivers ventured out on track last weekend in the Green Hell to contest the 24-hour classic. The outing in the rain-drenched Eifel was to pay off for Christian Vietoris and Maximilian Götz: They both stood on the podium together with their team-mates at the end of the race. Vietoris placed second in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 prepared by #amg Team HTP Motorsport. Götz finished third in the #amg Team HARIBO #racing car. Meanwhile, driving a Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 Evolution II rebuilt by Mercedes-Benz Classic, Daniel Juncadella lined up with TV presenter, Matthias Malmedie, in the Youngtimer Trophy. The two were, unfortunately, unable to complete the three-hour ADAC 24-hr classic car race.

Brand of the Year: There was something to celebrate on Friday evening even before this year's 24-hour classic in the Eifel had begun. Mercedes-AMG received the Brand of the Year prize at the Nürburgring awards ceremony for their special commitment to fans at last year's Nürburgring 24-hour race. Other winners were record-breaking #formula1 championship winner Michael Schumacher, who was honoured for his life's work, and pop writer and rapper, Smudo, as Ambassador of the Year.

Three questions for Gary Paffett

There was some off-track controversy between drivers at the first two race weekends in Hockenheim and Spielberg. Has something changed this season?
Gary Paffett: "The first two race weekends of the season are always pretty intense, and there's a lot of contact and things going on. This year, drivers are maybe a little more vocal about it in the public domain. I personally have nothing against young drivers or rookies. I was generally surprised by the level of the driving and also disappointed. But I think it's only fair to our fans and the public to let them know what's going on, what we're feeling. Motor sport has changed, and fans have a lot more contact with the drivers. So, we should do our bit and share our emotions with them. It's not as if we're hiding away from each other and talking behind each other's backs. For example, I spoke face to face with Timo directly after the race in Spielberg. I think we were communicating our feelings more openly."

Let's talk about the Lausitzring. You have already taken three wins there in the #dtm. Is there something at this track that particularly suits you, and can you clinch another win this weekend?
Gary Paffett: "I hope we can. We had a great car at Hockenheim and it felt very good at Spielberg too in the race. Unfortunately, we just didn't have the qualifying pace there. I'm now looking forward to competing at the front again at the Lausitzring. I'm looking too for my first podium of the season at least. The circuit itself is quite unique. It's the only circuit on the calendar on which we race on an oval section. The track has a lot of grip and that builds up over the weekend. I don't do anything differently when I go there, but I've certainly adjusted my driving style over the years to suit the track."

Away from the track, you have recently taken on the role of coach to the youth team at your local tennis club. How did that come about?
Gary Paffett: "My kids love sport as much as I do. I helped the team out in some competitions, and the head coach asked me if I'd liked to manage the team. I said yes, since I'm at most of the matches anyway with my kids. It gives me the chance to organise the team and pick the players. It's really good fun to help out with the kids and see how they develop."

Social Media News

Every second counts: Fast data transmission is critical in F1. Every second in the cockpit counts. The Silver Arrows team have developed a way of gaining immediate access to this data together with Qualcomm technologies. By way of comparison: The data rate which the team can access today from just one of the measuring sensors on a small area of the subfloor is ten times greater than was the case on the Apollo space missions.

#TrackTest Lausitzring: This is what #dtm drivers can look forward to this weekend at the Lausitzring. Daniel Juncadella posts a lap in the race simulator, while revealing all about the circuit. If after watching him, you feel like having a go yourself, no problem, players can compete against each other in the Mercedes-AMG Online Race Competition: #mercedes.me/onlineracecompetition
