StatAttack: Last year's race around the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore was not the best of weekends for the Silver Arrows. At least compared with one year earlier when Lewis Hamilton in his F1 W05 Hybrid secured a maiden win for the team under the floodlights of Singapore. For Lewis, it was his second victory at this track, the first having come in 2009. In terms of pole positions, the three-time world champion tops the statistics: he shares the record with Sebastian Vettel of three poles from eight Singapore grands prix. In the 2014 season, he even claimed the treble of pole, victory and fastest lap. But there is one thing that no team has managed so far in the relatively young history of the race: a one-two victory.

King of the Nürburgring: Lucas Auer and the Nürburgring - the perfect fit. The special affinity of the Austrian for the circuit in the Eifel became apparent in his rookie season last year. On that occasion at the Nürburgring, he secured his maiden #dtm pole position. It's now becoming something of a habit for Auer, as he set the fastest time in both qualifying sessions this year. But that wasn't all: in the second qualifying, he posted a lap of 1:22.728 minutes, the fastest of the entire race weekend (average speed: 157.919 km/h). In doing so, Auer clocked absolute best times in the first and third sectors. When his three fastest sector times are aggregated, this produces a theoretical best time of 1:22.449 minutes - faster than the combined sectors of all other drivers. The 'King of the Nürburgring' rounded off an exemplary time sheet with a podium finish in the second race - and all of this on his 22nd birthday.

Three questions for Daniel Juncadella

Dani, although the results don't quite show it, you've put in some strong race performances. What has changed for you since the beginning of the season?
Daniel Juncadella: At the beginning of the season, I had a lot of problems. But after the Norisring, we changed the car and since then my performances have been much better. We don't know exactly why that is. Our investigations have revealed that everything was fine with the previous car. Nevertheless, things are going much better for me all round, and I just feel more comfortable in the car. At the same time, I haven't changed anything personally. But the #dtm field is so competitive that even the smallest details can make a big difference. Everything has to be just right.

This season, you've been very unlucky with no-fault collisions and defects such as a non-functioning windscreen wiper in the rain-affected race in Moscow. How do you deal with setbacks like that?
Daniel Juncadella: Obviously, it's not easy. But it's all part and parcel of #racing. I'm able to quickly put moments like that behind me. It is important to keep calm, and always give your best. Sometimes there's absolutely nothing you can do. Defects or incidents of that kind are outside your sphere of influence. It's therefore crucial that you focus on the things you can influence. Then eventually, your luck will come back too.

What targets have you set yourself for the final four races of the season?
Daniel Juncadella: My target is still to make my first #dtm podium appearance this season. I think that, in view of my improved form in recent weeks, there's a good chance of that. Because things are going so much better now than earlier in the season, and I'm confident that I can do it. From a team perspective, I'm obviously keeping my fingers crossed for Robert and hoping he can still win the championship, despite the setback at the Nürburgring.
