Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

FMF KTM Factory Racing’s #codywebb put forth a dominant performance on Saturday to capture the victory at the final round of the 2016 AMA EnduroCross Series in Ontario, #california. After 15 laps of #racing, Webb finished only three seconds shy of lapping 2nd place to round out the season in a big way. Heat 1 After laying down the fastest lap in the daytime qualifying session, #codywebb lined up in Heat 1 alongside points leader Colton Haaker. Webb immediately powered his KTM 250 XC-F off the line to capture the holeshot and the early lead. The 2016 EnduroCross Champion continued his impressive run for the remainder of the six-lap heat race, finishing 11 seconds ahead of the 2nd place rider of Haaker to earn a valuable point toward the championship chase. The top two riders from each heat race then entered the evening’s single hot lap where they vied for another championship point. Webb continued with his previous momentum, capturing the fastest lap time and first gate pick for the Main #event. Main #event It was Haaker who grabbed the holeshot and early lead as Webb entered the opening lap just inside the top three. It didn’t take long for Webb to vault himself into the lead position where he went to work pulling away from the rest of the field. Haaker settled into the 2nd place position but began dropping back due to a few mistakes in the technical obstacles. By the halfway point, Webb had substantially lapped his way through the field where he continued to push ahead during the second half of the race. With Haaker in 2nd, Webb charged his way to within three seconds of lapping his opponent on the final lap as he rounded out his most dominant performance of the season. Following a championship-winning season in 2015, Webb finished only nine points back for 2nd place in the overall championship. Webb: “To be honest, I knew the chances (to win the championship) were slim but I wanted to end the season with a bang and I think I proved that I wasn’t a two-time champion for nothing. I felt confident coming in and I rode well all day but Colton rode solid all year. I gave it my all this season so I can’t complain – I was always right there but one little mistake would take me away from the win. I’m looking forward to 2017!” Antti Kallonen (Team Manager): “I’m happy to finish the season with such a massive win – we haven’t won this big the whole season. Obviously Colton had his own pressure to win the championship but still Cody rode phenomenal tonight. It’s good to see him coming out aggressive – winning the heat race, hot lap and the main #event. It was a technical track which is always a plus to Cody’s favor. It’s a good way to end the season; if we can’t win the championship we’ll take the win at the final round and use that to build for the next season.” KTM Factory Racing’s Taddy Blazusiak sat out of the final round of #racing due to health issues sustained earlier in the season.
