Ryan Dungey and Marvin Musquin were both seeded into 450SX Heat 1 and it was Musquin who got off to a favorable start as he put himself into podium contention right away. Musquin moved his way into 2nd place, with Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/WPS/KTM’s David Millsaps and Dungey charging behind. Dungey eventually made a move Musquin to inherit the 2nd place position, while Musquin finished 3rd and Millsaps finished 4th, each advancing to the Main #event.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Trey Canard did not line up for the evening’s race program after a crash in the morning’s practice session kept him from #racing.

Main Event
Blake Baggett grabbed the holeshot aboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY, while Musquin and Dungey began just inside the top ten. Dungey immediately put his head down and went to work in picking off riders as he quickly climbed inside the top five before the halfway point.

Dungey continued to push his way into the 2nd place position, where he ultimately finished after 22 laps of #racing.

Dungey: “I just tried to not get ahead of myself and pick off as many guys as I could. I just tried to keep hitting my marks, not make any big mistakes – and I didn’t – for the most part. I hit my lines good and the bike felt good as well. The track deteriorated fast but before I knew it I found myself in 5th. I was really happy with the night and the ride but it would have been better with a start.”

250SX East Class
TLD Red Bull KTM’s Jordon Smith came through the pack on his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION and even overcame a crash to finish seventh at the third round of the Eastern Regional 250SX championship in Canada. Smith still holds onto third in the championship standings with his come-from-behind ride. Teammate Alex Martin got a mid-pack start but after running in the top-10 had a late race crash and finished 15th.

“It was definitely a crazy main #event,” said Smith. “Having a bad start didn’t help me and really put me in the middle of a lot of chaos. I eventually went down but knew I had to make up as many points as possible. We’ll get it back next week. Should be fun in Daytona.”

Next Round: March 11, 2017 – Daytona, FL (USA)
