Gresini Racing Team Moto3 racers head stateside in upbeat mood

Just one week after the Grand Prix of Argentina, Gresini #racing Team Moto3 racers #eneabastianini and #fabiodigiannantonio are ready to get back on track for the third race of the 2016 season, the Grand Prix of the Americas at the spectacular Circuit of the Americas, in the outskirts of Austin, Texas.

Despite the Termas de Rio Hondo weekend didn't bring the expected results, with Bastianini who remained behind in the early stages of the race with a damp track and then out of the points at the checkered flag and Di Giannantonio slowed by a technical problem in the final laps, both the 18-year-old rider from Rimini and the 17-year-old rookie from Rome arrive in the United States confident of being able to make up for the recent disappointment.

For Bastianini, fourth last year at CotA, the goal as always is to try to join the fight at the top, while Di Giannantonio, facing the third new track in as many races, will continue his apprenticeship looking to make substantial further steps forward.

ENEA BASTIANINI
"The Circuit of the Americas at Austin is a beautiful and very technical track, on which it will be important to be fast right from the first practice in order to be quick in Qualifying and prepare the race. Unfortunately in Argentina things didn't go as we would have liked, so ahead of this #event will go to better analyze all the data, because mixed conditions with a damp track may recur in the future and we want to be competitive also on these occasions. However, I hope that it will be sunny in Texas, but for this we cannot do anything but wait and see what happens. The Championship is still long, but we want to make up for Argentina disappointment now!"

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
"Apart from the race result, in Argentina we have experienced a nice weekend, making progress in every practice session. I'm sure that in a dry race we could have our say, improving the placement we had obtained in Qatar. In Austin I will find another new track, very long and technical, but I hope to continue this positive trend. It would be nice to get a good result to make up for the disappointment of the last race and thus close the first part of the season with three flyaway races, which I knew would be a difficult first test for me, in a positive way".

FAUSTO GRESINI
"For a rider like Bastianini, whose goal is to fight for the title, the setback suffered in Argentina has a certain weight: we head to Austin in upbeat mood because we are aware of our good level of competitiveness, but on the other side we know that we need to make points to make up ground in the Championship. However, Enea likes this track and we are confident we can do well. Di Giannantonio is preparing to face the third unknown track in as many races: Fabio therefore will continue his important apprenticeship. Compared to the first Grand Prix in Qatar, Fabio in Termas de Rio Hondo has made some nice progress and the goal in Austin is always the same, namely to keep learning and gain more competitiveness".
