McCanney And Yamaha Top Enduro 2 Podium At EnduroGP of Greece

Following a winning ride at round five of the 2017 #endurogp World Championship, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider Jamie McCanney has moved up to second in the Enduro 2 World Championship standings. Earning a runner-up result at the end of the first day of #racing in Grevena, Greece, on day two the Manxman secured victory aboard his Yamaha's WR250F.

With the fifth round of the 2017 FIM #endurogp World Championship taking place in Grevena, Greece, competitors were faced with soring temperatures and dry and dusty terrain. Featuring a high-speed motocross special test, a long enduro test and a technical extreme test, in claiming 2-1 Enduro 2 class finishes Jamie matched his best results of the year from the GP of Hungary to again show himself as a genuine Enduro 2 title contender.

Fresh from his first Enduro 2 class victory at round four of the #endurogp series in Hungary, Jamie entered round five confident he could again battle for victory. Despite a small mistake during the short, opening Super Test on Friday night, it didn't take long for the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider to hit his stride during the first full day of #racing in Greece.

Posting top three times in half of the day's special tests on day one, Jamie remained in the battle for the win until the closing stages of the race. Wrapping up day one with a strong runner-up result, he moved into second in the class' provisional championship standings.

Focused on nothing other than winning on day two, Jamie won three out of the nine special tests contested. Consistently fast until the end of the day, especially on the forest-based enduro test, the Manxman clinched his second victory of the season.

Earning victory on day two and securing another 25 championship points, Jamie has closed to within 12 points of the provisional championship leader Josep Garcia.

Jamie McCanney and the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team return to action in Castelo Branco, Portugal, round six of the 2017 #endurogp World Championship on July 21/23.
