Tallinn
Tallinn (Estonia), 4 June 2018 - In the capital of Estonia, Tallinn, the Red Moto Motoclub played host to the Enduro World Championship Circus with the
fourth round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship. It was a very successful weekend for
METZELER and for the riders supported by the tyre brand, who excelled throughout the entire weekend in three spectacular special trials.
The riders supported by
METZELER continue to dominate the
FIM EnduroGP World Championship, and in Estonia the most prominent figures were
Alex Salvini (Team JET Zanardo) and
Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro). The Bologna-born rider won on the second day of the
EnduroGP and re-enforced his position as leader in the Premier class. He was the protagonist of an exciting battle which lasted the entire weekend against his ex-team mate
Steve Holcombe, who currently holds second place overall.
Despite coming second twice in the
E1 class,
Jamie McCanney is still the provisional leader.
The English rider for
the Yamaha Outsider Team, following his fall in the first special trial which led to a serious contusion to his right hand, gritted his teeth throughout the weekend and achieved excellent results.
In the
E2 class, on both days of racing, all three riders on the podium were equipped with
METZELER tyres.
On Day 1
the first place on the podium went to
Eero Remes, followed by
Alex Salvini and
Loic Larrieu. On Day 2 it was the turn of
Alex Salvini who gained the upper handover
Loic Larrieu and
Christophe Charlier.
A splendid double in the
E3 class for the METZELER-supported rider Steve Holcombe. The rider for
the Beta Factory Enduro Team continued to affirm his role as class leader with a 22-point lead over Christophe Nambotin, and a 24-point lead over his compatriot Dany McCanney.
It was also an excellent weekend for the Team mates
Andrea Verona and
Davide Soreca, who fared well in the Junior class. On Day One,
Andrea Verona, with
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres, picked up second place in
Junior 2 on Day 1, while
David Soreca took to the podium twice in the
Junior 2 and
Junior classes on Day 2.
The fifth appointment with the
FIM EnduroGP World Championship is scheduled for Saturday 30 June in Pietramurata for the Italian GP, on the splendid
METZELER Offroad Park racetrack.
