Pirelli was the Official Tyre Partner of the 2018 WDW, equipping the motorcycles used for the Race of Champions and the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Race

The DIABLO ™ Superbike slick tyres were used on all of the Panigale V4 S machines of the Race of Champions, which was won by Michele Pirro, Pirelli's official rider in the CIV Superbike class. Pirro also recorded the fastest lap of the race with the impressive time of 1'38.030

Milan, 26 July 2018 –The tenth edition of World Ducati Week saw Pirelli as the Official Tyre Partner; equipping all of the motorcycles that were used by the riders for the spectacular and very popular Race of Champions and Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Race.
This year, the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli was the setting for this spectacular event, which over three days saw the participation of over 90,000 motorcyclists and lovers of the Red motorcycles from Borgo Panigale.

As the official tyre partner of the 2018 WDW, Pirelli was present in the paddock area of the circuit, the Tech Village, with a dedicated stand offering the participants the opportunity to purchase tyres at supported prices.

Being recognised and appreciated internationally for its sporting DNA, the Italian tyre manufacturer was also selected by Ducati to equip the motorcycles used by all the riders who took part in what were probably the most exciting and well-followed activities of the weekend; the Race of Champions and the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Race.

The Ducati Panigale V4 S machines, specially prepared with race configuration and dedicated liveries, were used by the 12 Ducati MotoGP and SBK Champions for the exciting Race of Champions. These machines were fitted with Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike slick tyres, in this case in SC1 front and SC0 rear compounds, the same standard tyres developed and used by Pirelli both in the FIM Superbike World Championship and in different national championships in which the brand participates. These tyres are also on sale on the market and can be purchased by all motorcyclists.
Michele Pirro, who with Pirelli is competing in the Superbike class of the Italian Speed Championship CIV of which he is also the current Champion, was the winner of the race. The Italian rider also recorded the fastest lap of the race in 1'38.030, an impressive time lap just a few seconds slower than the record of the track made in the Superbike World Championship; this has even more value considering that it was obtained using a standard motorcycle equipped with Pirelli standard tyres.

Equally full of adrenaline was the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Race carried out with Pirelli prototype tyres specifically developed for this event on the basis of the famous MT 60™ RS. Taking part in the race, among the many illustrious participants, was legendary Ducati rider Troy Bayliss, who with Pirelli won the FIM Superbike World Championship three times and still runs in the Australian Superbike Championship.

The World Ducati Week 2018 was once again an opportunity for Pirelli to confirm its long-standing strategic role as a technical and marketing partner of Ducati, with a top-notch range of tyres able to meet the needs of the more demanding motorcyclists.
