Victorious weekend for Lamborghini in Blancpain GT Series and GT Open

Lamborghini returned to winning ways at the Hungaroring during the 4th #blancpaingt Series Sprint Cup round. The #63 GRT Grasser #racing Team #huracangt3 shared by #lamborghini Factory Drivers Christian Engelhart and Mirko Bortolotti, secured a memorable success from fifth on the grid. Engelhart displayed lightning-quick reactions to get the jump on the front two rows, then had the tenacity to dive up the inside and snatch top spot on the run down to turn one.

Engelhart was able to pull away and eventually handed over to Bortolotti with a healthy lead. Bortolotti was therefore able to bring the #63 #lamborghini home in first spot to secure the Grasser squad’s first #blancpaingt Series victory since the season-opening race at Zolder.

Christian Engelhart said: “I think the weather was the key today because even with a good start it would have been difficult in the dry. The Mercedes has been really fast all weekend and the same was true for the race in dry conditions. But, in drying conditions, we were quite fast and could pull a gap, so I think that was the key. The second stint was just about staying in front. I’m really happy about the start and the result, especially after some tough times during the season. I’m glad for the whole team that we’re back on top.”

On the same weekend #lamborghini showed great performance in the fifth out of seven International GT Open rounds at Silverstone. Giovanni Venturini and Jeroen Mul, with the Imperiale #racing #lamborghini, took the second place on both races, reducing the gap considerably in the overall standings, where they now lie only 14 points behind. The Imperiale #racing pair in Race 2 claimed also the PRO category win. Ombra #racing completed the race 2 overall podium with its #12 #huracangt3 after a very solid race by Alex Frassineti and Damiano Fioravanti.

Giulio Borlenghi and Andrej Lewandowski claimed a remarcable double AM class win at the wheel of Vincenzo Sospiri #racing #66 #lamborghini GT3.
