After clinching the Riders' Championship at Twin Ring Motegi with record-breaker #marcmarquez, the Repsol Honda Team has left Japan and is headed toward #australia, chasing a record 24th Constructors Title, which would also be Honda's seventh in the past eight years. With a 47-point lead and three races remaining in the season, there is a chance for the company to reach the prestigious achievement at Phillip Island on Sunday, when round 17 of the MotoGP World Championship will get underway at 4 p.m. local time (6 a.m. CEST time). At the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix #marcmarquez has 3 wins—1×125 (2010) and 2xMotoGP (2015, 2017)—plus 2 podiums and 5 pole positions. #danipedrosa has 1 win in 250 (2005), plus an additional 2 podiums and 1 pole position.
Marc Marquez 2018 WORLD CHAMPION "It's a great feeling to arrive in #australia with the Title already won, and I really look forward to enjoying the end of the season. Of course there are also the Constructors and the Teams' titles to think of, so we'll try to keep the same level of performance and win more races to achieve those goals as well, as they're important for us and for Honda. I love Phillip Island; it's a fast track that always favours race-long battles that are a great show for the fans. I just hope the weather will be good because it can change from sunny and warm to cold and windy in a matter of hours. Anyway, we'll see; we'll definitely try to be at the front and have fun."
Dani Pedrosa “Phillip Island isn’t one of my favourite tracks, though we’ve also been able to get some good results there in the past. More recently, though, we’ve struggled to find the best setup. That said, we’ll go there and manage it as well as possible. Let’s hope to find good weather and to be able to use every session well in order to prepare for the race.”
