Nissan to electrify 2018 São Paulo Motor Show

SAO PAULO – Nissan will electrify the 2018 São Paulo International Motor Show with the Latin American premiere of two 100% electric vehicles – the new Nissan LEAF and Nissan's Formula E race car.

The two models will be among the main attractions on Nissan's stage during Latin America's premier auto show, taking place at the São Paulo Expo exhibition center from Nov. 8-18.

The Nissan LEAF – the world's best-selling electric car – and the Formula E car embody Nissan's drive for sustainable, zero-emission mobility, part of its Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision. In addition to the two all-electric vehicles, the Nissan booth will feature TV screens and lights powered by "second-life" batteries from the LEAF. The Nissan XMotion Concept crossover and a Nissan X-Trail with a hybrid powertrain will also be among the models on display.

"Our displayed vehicles and attractions show our vision for the present and the future globally and, of course, in Brazil," said Marco Silva, president of Nissan Brazil. "Electrification and Intelligent Mobility have come to stay in Brazil, and we will be at the forefront, with products and services adapted to meet the current and future needs of local consumers."

Outside the exhibition hall, Nissan will offer visitors a special area to test drive the Nissan LEAF and try the technologies of the Nissan Frontier pickup and the Nissan Kicks.

The new Nissan LEAF is now available through a pre-sale program in Brazil, Chile and Colombia. Argentina will join the program in 2019.

"Nissan LEAF sales will start in 2019, but we're accelerating our sales drive with an innovative pre-sale program in four markets to meet anticipated demand for it," said José Luis Valls, chairman of Nissan Latin America. "Nissan Intelligent Mobility is not only about our product lineup, but also about the way we do business and meet consumer demand."
