Alfa Romeo takes part in the Targa Florio Australian Tribute

  • The regularity competition that celebrates the legendary Sicilian motorsports race where the famous Quadrifoglio symbol was born will get under way in the State of Victoria on 28 November.
  • The event marks the Australian debut of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, which will lead the cars in all five stages of the event, together with more than 50 historic cars.

Alfa Romeo Australia is proud to join forces with #targaflorioaustraliantribute to pay homage to the legendary motorsports race and the place where the famous Quadrifoglio symbol was born.

The #targaflorioaustraliantribute is a regularity competition subdivided into three categories: historic cars built from 1906 to 1976, Ferrari cars built from 1977 to the present, and supercars built from 1990. For the second time, the event will be leaving Italy behind to travel the loveliest, most picturesque roads of the State of Victoria, from 28 November to 2 December 2018.

Alfa Romeo has a long, proud history of competition in the historic Targa Florio, where its first victory dates back to 1923, when the famous driver Ugo Sivocci painted a four-leaf clover ("quadrifoglio" in Italian) on the grille of his Alfa Romeo RL Targa Florio in the attempt to bring a run of second places to an end.

The Salerno-born driver went on to win the Italian brand's first victory in the event, inaugurating a legend which is still very much alive 95 years later, as the badge now adorns the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio high-performance sports sedan and the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio SUV. And the #targaflorioaustraliantribute will mark the Australian debut of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, which will lead the cars in all five stages of the event, together with more than 50 historic cars.
