Panasonic Jaguar Racing look to convert pace to podium in Santiago ePrix

  • Mitch Evans finished Marrakesh E-Prix in ninth, Nelson Piquet Jr in 14th
  • Mitch currently seventh and Nelson 13th in the driver standings with the British team now sixth in the team standings
  • Panasonic #Jaguar #racing push for podium in Santiago, after promising learnings from rookie testing in Marrakesh
  • Santiago E-Prix takes place on 26 January 2019

"I had a good run at Santiago last year, finishing in P7, but obviously this year we are on a different track and with the #Jaguar I-TYPE 3 Generation 2 car, so it will be interesting to see how we perform. I was really pleased with the pace I set in Marrakesh – finishing FP2 with the fastest time of the day was really promising. I’m really looking forward to #racing in Chile after feedback from Harry and Pietro in testing and the learnings we have applied to the car."

- #mitchevans, PANASONIC #Jaguar #racing DRIVER, #20

"I narrowly missed out on Super Pole in Santiago in 2018, so I’ll be pushing for a top six finish in qualifying this year. The #Jaguar I-TYPE 3 has shown some great speed already this season, so I’m excited to race in South America and see what we can achieve. In Marrakesh I feel we were perhaps a bit cautious, we will be looking to be more aggressive in Santiago."

- NELSON PIQUET JR, PANASONIC #Jaguar #racing DRIVER, #3

"Marrakesh was obviously a disappointing race for us, we had very competitive pace throughout the weekend, but our race was ultimately ruined by the first corner melee. We too some positive learnings away from the rookie test and are feeling positive ahead of Santiago. Both Ad Diriyah and Marrakesh proved that we are competitive, so as a team we will be pushing for our first podium finish of the season."
