Chad Reed & Weston Peick injury updates

Press release available only in original language.

Team Suzuki Press Office has been given an update on Supercross and #motocross riders #chadreed and Weston Peick’s conditions. And all is looking positive for a return for both riders, pending medical advice in the near future.

JGRXMX Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Jeremy Albrecht has given the following information on both Peick – who was seriously injured in the Bercy Supercross, in Paris, in November 2018 – has just started riding again.

Also Reed, who rejoined Suzuki full-time for the start of the 2019 AMA Supercross season – and who was running in the top 6 until a heavy crash at the Seattle SX in March – is hoping his eight broken ribs, broken scapula and collapsed lung will be all healed before the SX season finale on May 4th in Las Vegas that he hopes to race at.

Said Albrecht: “Weston rode for the first time since his accident this past week at Milestone. He still has very limited vision in his one eye, so the first time out was a challenge. However, he is going to ride several more times before he and the team decide if he is capable of #racing the Nationals. Weston has been keeping up in his off-the-bike training. It’s just a matter of whether his bad eye will improve.

“Chad is wearing a sling for his broken scapula, but that’s really more for prevention than anything. His eight broken ribs are healing nicely and don’t seem to bother him too much. He’s still blowing into the breathing tester after his collapsed lung. Chad still plans on #racing Las Vegas, but that remains to be seen until more time has passed.”
