Monza, 7 September 2019 –Charles Leclerc will start the 90thItalian Grand Prix, the 70thas part of the Formula 1 World Championship, from pole position. The Monegasque posted a time of1’19”307, beating Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas into second and third, while #sebastianvettel will start from fourth on the grid.
Crazy qualifying. The final part of qualifying was unusual to say the least, as the drivers jockeyed for position, not wishing to lead out the other nine cars, meaning they would have no one to slipstream. However, the slow pace of the out lap meant eight of the ten cars failed to cross the line before the chequered flag fell and could not set a time. Carlos Sainz and #charlesleclerc were the only two to do a quick lap, but did not improve on their earlier times. The Italian Grand Prix gets underway at 15.10 tomorrow.
