MV Agusta Reparto Corse – Krummenacher is second in Superpole at Phillip Island
MV Agusta Reparto Corse are taking part in the first round of the Supersport world championship at the #phillipisland track in #australia. Having completed winter testing followed by a two-day test at this same Australian track earlier this week, the three MV riders were on track yesterday for free practice. The first session was conditioned by rain while the track was completely dry for session two. At the end of day one, the fastest rider was 2019 world champion #randykrummenacher who set a best of 1’32”894. The competitiveness of the F3 675 was also confirmed by Raffaele De Rosa who finished third with a time of 1’33”510. Now fully recovered from injuries that kept him away from the tracks in recent months, Federico Fuligni finished eleventh with a 1’34”142.
This morning, the third and final free practice played out under cloudy skies but on a dry track. The riders worked hard with their technicians, seeking the best set-up ahead of the afternoon’s Superpole. All three #mvagusta Reparto Corse riders improved on their best lap times. Krummenacher (1’32”889) finished third, De Rosa (1’33”331) fifth and Fuligni 1’34”068 thirteenth.
In Superpole, Krummenacher put in a great performance, further improving on his time (1’32”323) and finishing second. Tomorrow he will line up on the front row of the grid. De Rosa was also able to lower his time (1’32”894) and will start from the second row in fifth place. Fourth row for Fuligni who, with a 1’33”433, finished tenth.
Tomorrow the three #mvagusta Reparto Corse riders will take part in the first race of the 2020 Supersport world championship, which will run over a distance of 16 laps with a mandatory tyre change to be completed by lap ten.

Randy Krummenacher: “Superpole went quite well. We came close to scoring pole position, but I’m pleased with the front row anyway and I feel ready for the race. Together with my team, I’ve worked well and so we need to continue on this path. Tomorrow’s goal is to win the race”.
Raffaele De Rosa: “I’m quite pleased with our Superpole. We ran near the front and showed that we have strong pace. Tomorrow’s race will definitely be hard-fought and unpredictable, also due to the tyre change, but we’ll give it our all and I’m feeling confident. Today in Superpole we were missing that final push on the flying lap but the important thing was to secure a place on the front two rows and we did just that”.
Federico Fuligni: “In practice we were unable to test everything we wanted to and struggled a little. In Superpole, I immediately felt comfortable on the bike and set my fastest time alone, without getting a tow from anyone. I’m only sorry I made a few small mistakes, without which I’d be starting further forward on the grid. Tomorrow we’ll make a few more small changes to the bike but we’re more or less ready for the first race of the season”.
