A Hero on our backs: Sauber Motorsport and Built for Athletes continue together in 2021

Hinwil, 2nd March 2021 – #saubermotorsport, which manages and operates the #alfaromeoracingorlen entry in the Formula One world championship, will tackle the 2021 season with the world’s best-in-class backpacks by #builtforathletes, the team’s Official Backpack Supplier.

Kimi Räikkönen, #antoniogiovinazzi, #robertkubica and all race team members will travel to each of the rounds of the 2021 world championship sporting the Hero 2.0 backpack, an upgraded version of the popular 45L bag used in 2020. This rugged but stylish accessory, well suited to the demands of a team on the go, will equip the #alfaromeoracingorlen squad efficiently in any #racing setting, from the dry deserts of the Middle East to the humid urban climates of South East Asia.

Featuring a deep black body with red inserts and adorned with the team logo, the Hero 2.0 backpack will incorporate new features – such as two side holders for 750ml bottles, a full Velcro upper pocket for maximum personalisation and laser-cut MOLLE webbing for a stronger and cleaner aesthetic - developed as a result of the team’s experience in the 2020 season. The practical compartments provide lots of storage opportunities for the technical and personal equipment of travelling personnel, including PPE, sanitizer and other hygiene devices that have become commonplace since the start of the Covid pandemic.

Improved, resilient, reliable: the Hero 2.0 backpack will be a trusted companion for every team member in the paddock and on their travels – and for fans too, as the team-edition Hero 2.0 backpack will be available for purchase from the #builtforathletes and team’s websites at the end of March.

Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal #alfaromeoracingorlen and CEO #saubermotorsport AG: “We are very pleased to extend our successful #partnership with #builtforathletes. The Hero backpack proved a very popular accessory with everyone in the team: practical, with lots of capacity and suited to our demanding travel schedules. The Hero 2.0 version is the direct result of the feedback of the team: #builtforathletes delivered another great product that will serve us well from the start of the season until the very end.”

Nick Costello, Founder at #builtforathletes: “We’re delighted to continue our #partnership with one of the most historic #racing teams on the grid and remain the official backpack supplier of #alfaromeoracingorlen for the 2021 season. Designing the 2021 ARRO backpack has been a collaborative process and we’re confident the end result is a functional, versatile and robust product which will become a core piece of kit for #alfaromeoracingorlen mechanics, engineers, management team and drivers alike.”

Danny Costello, Marketing Director at #builtforathletes“We’re thrilled to continue supporting the #alfaromeoracingorlen team for the 2021 season. Being chosen again as official backpack supplier for such a prestigious #racing team is a great achievement for the brand, something we’re very proud of and a fantastic endorsement for the quality of our products.”
