Bernardi and CM Racing put on a great show and took fifth in Race 2 at Assen

The #cmracingteam and #lucabernardi shine on Sunday in Assen. The young rider from San Marino has in fact taken a splendid fifth position in Race 2, with which he confirms to have quickly learned the secrets of the tortuous and historical Dutch track.

Day 3 opened with the warm up, held on a dry track despite the heavy rain that fell during the night, where Bernardi avoided taking any risks. The number 29 in fact has completed only five laps, also because of the only ten (instead of fifteen) minutes avaible, ending the session in 20th and acquiring a lot of information for Race 2.

The race started in the best way for Bernardi, able to move during the first lap from ninth to sixth position. In the following laps Luca remained in the second group, fighting from the second part of the race for the third place, making some overtaking as a real talent. In the last few laps the fight for the podium became fierce, with Bernardi able to take fourth place, but forced to give up a position after the end of the race as a penalty for exceeding the limits of the track on the last lap.

With a smile on their face after the Assen weekend, the #cmracingteam can now start preparing for the fourth round of the season, scheduled for 6-7-8 August on the unprecedented Czech track of Most.

Race 2 results #NLDWorldSBK
P1 - Dominique Aegerter (Yamaha)
P2 - Philipp Oettl (Kawasaki)
P3 - Randy Krummenacher (Yamaha)
P4 - Jules Cluzel (Yamaha)
P5 - #lucabernardi (CM #racing Team, Yamaha)

Luca Bernardi: "Right from the warm up I realised that we had made big steps forward in terms of set-up, which allowed me to have a good race. I made a good start, recovering some positions and then fighting for the podium until the last few laps. It's a pity I wasn't able to get third position, but I'm very happy with my race and with the work done together with the team. Now a new track like Most awaits us, where I hope to find the right way to be fast straight away".

Manuel Cappelletti (Team Director): "Yesterday Luca struggled because of his inexperience, which in a difficult circuit like Assen can be a factor, but today he quickly redeemed himself. We worked hard after Race 1 to improve the set-up and we succeeded, allowing Bernardi to express his great potential. Our goal is still to be with the first ones, aware of Luca's young age and of our strength".
