Top ten for Baldassarri in Race 1 in San Juan, points for Sebestyen

It was a busy Saturday for the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team, who took to the track in #sanjuan for Race 1. #lorenzobaldassarri and #petersebestyen once again gave their all from the first to the last lap, finishing 9th and 12th overall.

On the Argentinean morning the Superpole was staged to decide the starting grid. Baldassarri took advantage of the information gathered yesterday, and was immediately fast enough to take 4th position. A positive session also for Sebestyen, who was able to take 10th position, just a few tenths behind his teammate.

In the early afternoon the lights went out for Race 1. Protagonist of a negative start, Baldassarri was able lap after lap to recover positions, up to 4th position at mid-race. In the second part of the race the Italian rider had to deal with a small problem, which forced him to play defense, ending the race in P9.

Sebestyen also had a difficult start to the race, but he did well to stay focused and put together an excellent pace, which allowed him to stay just a few tenths from the top ten. At the end Peter tried to attack, but had to settle for 12th position.

With Saturday over, everything is now ready for Day 3 in #sanjuan. Tomorrow in fact the warm-up (15.25 CET) and Race 2, which will start like today's race at 18.30 CET, will be staged.

Lorenzo Baldassarri:
"At the start of the race I lost positions, due to some contacts. Over the next few laps I managed to climb up, with good confidence, but in the final laps a small problem with the gearbox didn't help. Unfortunately these things happen: now we have to solve the problem and try to have a good race tomorrow".

Peter Sebestyen: "We took a step forward in terms of setup, but the new change of conditions made things difficult for us. Unfortunately the rear tyre wore down a lot during the race, which didn't allow me to attack the riders in front of me as I wanted to at the end. We have the potential to do well, we hope to prove it tomorrow”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "Obviously we can't be happy with today's results. Lorenzo had some gearbox problems during the race, which did not allow him to get more than 9th place. Peter is proving to be fast, but unfortunately something was missing to catch the top ten. Tomorrow we want to make up for it”.
