Yamaha Gears Up for 2016 Enduro World Championship

Increasing their presence with a full-scale attack on both the #enduro 1 and #enduro 2 categories, #yamaha is ready to hunt for glory in the FIM #enduro World Championship.
With the 2016 series kicking off in Agadir, Morocco, on April 9th the Miglio #yamaha Official #enduro 1 Team and Outsiders #yamaha Official #enduro 2 Team will look to restore Yamaha's status as a dominant player in the prestigious EWC series.
Making a strong statement in 2015 on their official return to the #enduro World Championship, #yamaha are continuing to contest the #enduro 1 category with the Miglio #yamaha Official #enduro 1 Team. For 2016 the Italian-based squad have upped their game by enlisting the championship-winning services of Britain's #jamiemccanney and Sweden's #mikaelpersson. Both riders have been working hard during the off-season, hopeful of challenging for #enduro 1 honours aboard their #wr250f machinery.
With the brand-new WR450F machine already proving successful in early-season #enduro #racing, Outsiders #yamaha Official #enduro 2 Team riders #cristobalguerrero (Spain) and #loiclarrieu (France) are eager to kick off their world championship seasons. Taking advantage of his vast experience in world-class #enduro competition team manager Marc Bourgeois will also help re-establish #yamaha as a winning force in #enduro 2.
The opening round of the 2016 FIM #enduro World Championship takes place in Agadir, Morocco on April 09/10.

"I'm very pleased to join the senior classes of the #enduro World Championship with #yamaha and I can't wait for the season to begin. 2015 has been the best year of my career and I'm ready to raise the bar now in #enduro 1. The #wr250f is an impressive bike and it's a lot of fun to ride. It's been a tough winter for me - I had three operations in January to fix old injuries and then took some time to heal up properly. Since I got back on the bike in February I've been working really hard to be 100% ready for the world championship opener in Morocco. I've spent time testing with my team in Italy and also got the chance to train in Belgium and Spain. Everyone has been working really hard this year and I know the competition will be tough in #enduro 1, but I can't wait to get started."

"I'm really happy to be part of the Miglio #yamaha team for 2016. The team have developed a really good and competitive bike. When I jumped on the #wr250f I immediately felt strong. I've got everything I need now in the team and that gives me peace of mind. It's going to be my debut season in the senior ranks and the goal is to make it inside the top seven in #enduro 1. I would really like to make a podium and it'd feel even better if this could come in my home round in Sweden. I feel I have the speed and strength to make it but for sure I can't expect to get my best race every time out. Our plan is to spend more time during this season to get a better feeling and develop the bike to my liking. We expect the results to start coming later in the season, so that I can consistently fight for the podium in 2017."

"I'm glad I was given the opportunity to race for the Outsiders #yamaha Official Team. The feeling is great within the team. Cristobal is a really experienced rider and we get along very well. Our team manager Marc is a world-class rider who understands what we need and how to progress with bike development. Once the world championship kicks off I know Marc will be there to help us in any possible way. We have a really compact team and a good bike. The new WR450F has plenty of power and a great frame and suspension package that gives confidence. Clearly my goal for 2016 is to fight for victories and an overall podium finish at the end of the season. We all know it's going to be an open season but I'm highly positive we have all the right tools to bring the WR450F to the top of the podium."

"I'm looking forward to a move back into the #enduro 2 category with Yamaha's all-new WR450F. After a couple of seasons in #enduro 1, now is the perfect time to step things up. So far things have been going really well in training. Despite the team being still relatively new, Marc has been incredibly hardworking to ensure we're ready for the opening round of the world championship in Morocco. With two races and two wins already under my belt in the Spanish national championship, my motivation is high. I want to carry that momentum to Morocco. Round one will be a completely new venue but I'm hoping my years of EWC experience will help me put the WR450F up front in the results very quickly."
