The Moto GP goes to Karl Abarth’s home country with the Movistar Yamaha Moto GP Team

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

  • Valentino Rossi and #jorgelorenzo race in Austria on the Red Bull Ring.
  • The World Championship returns to this circuit after 19 years.
  • Abarth and the Movistar Yamaha #moto GP Team together for speed and success.

For #abarth, partner of the Movistar Yamaha #moto GP Team, the tenth appointment with the World Championship has a special meaning, because the race is held in the home country of its founder: Karl #abarth. The Austrian Grand Prix, scheduled on the Red Bull Circuit on Sunday 14 August, will feature the pilots of the Movistar Yamaha GP Team #valentinorossi and #jorgelorenzo, looking for another victory to add to the five already obtained this season.

The last time that the Austrian Zeltweg circuit, now renamed Red Bull Ring, had hosted a World Championship #moto Grand Prix was in 1997, and therefore none of the current World Championship pilots has a specific experience here. Tests were carried out during the month of July. Also in July, the same track had hosted the races that saw the #abarth 695 Assetto Corse and #595 OT #racing the #abarth Selenia Trophy and the single-seaters of the ADAC #abarth F4 Championship powered by #abarth, with a great show for the crowds.

In Austria, #abarth is certainly going to be a strong supporter of the Team, with its recently renovated range, including the new #abarth 124 spider, designed to satisfy even the most demanding pilot. The new Scorpion model is fitted with rear-wheel drive, sophisticated suspension and a four-cylinder 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine with 170 HP, paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic Sequenziale Sportivo Essesse gearbox with steering-wheel paddle shifters.

The #595 #abarth range has also been renewed, representing the evolution of the Scorpion brand icon: available in the saloon or convertible version, the new #595 #abarth range comes in three trim levels (595, #595 Turismo and #595 Competizione) and just as many engine power levels, to satisfy today's increasingly demanding and competent customers. Many of the upgrades introduced are the result of the experience gained with the development of the "smallest supercar": the 695 Biposto, a road car that offers all the thrills and technology of a real #racing car.

Passionate support for the Movistar Yamaha #moto GP Team also comes from members of "The Scorpionship", the brand's sole official community, devoted to #abarth owners, collectors, members of #abarth Clubs and simple fans. Registering at the scorpionship.abarth.com website provides plenty of exciting advantages, promotions and #racing opportunities as well as exclusive invitations to events for all #abarth enthusiasts.
