Clement Desalle of the Monster Energy #kawasakiracing Team has qualified third for tomorrow's French round of the FIM World MXGP #motocross Championship at St Jean D'Angely.

The Belgian, who had joined teammate Julien Lieber in the top three during timed practice, cleverly escaped the carnage through the first few turns of the Qualifying race to emerge fifth on the opening lap and advance to third by the close of the twenty-minute-plus-two-lap race, thus earning an excellent choice of gate for each of tomorrow's GP motos. Lieber was less fortunate, being brought down when a rival crashed at turn three; rejoining the race half a minute down in last position he put in a highly-professional ride to advance to fifteenth by the chequered flag.

Benoit Paturel of Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki made a top ten start in his home GP to qualify tenth, two places ahead of teammate Alessandro Lupino, the Italian advancing from an initial twentieth after being delayed by the first lap confusion.

In the MX2 class Henry Jacobi of the F&H #racing Team maintained his excellent form with a smooth ride to earn third choice of gate for tomorrow's GP motos; the German gated third and, keeping the leaders in sight for most of the race, retained that position to the finish. Brian Moreau of Bud #racing Kawasaki, second in timed training, started just inside the first ten after another rider cut across him straight out of the gate to qualify ninth, two ahead of F&& Racing's Adam Sterry in eleventh with Bud Racing's Mitchell Harrison fourteenth while Darian Sanayei of Bike It DRT Kawasaki had a strong ride to eighteenth after a first lap error had left him in last position. Bud Racing's Jimmy Clochet finished an impressive second, just two seconds behind the winner, in the first #moto of the FIM European EMX250 Championship round.
