Red Bull KTM Factory Racing head to Spain for WESS round seven

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s #nathanwatson, #josepgarcia, #jonnywalker and #taddyblazusiak will soon arrive in #spain to contest round seven of the World #enduro Super Series – BR2 #enduro Solsona. The three-day classic #enduro marks the penultimate #event in the eight-round series.
Based around the Spanish town of Solsona situated in the north east of the country, round seven of #wess will see competitors race in #spain for the second time this season. The #event, new to the calendar for 2019, comprises three days of classic #enduro #racing. Starting with a Supertest on Friday evening, riders then head out into the surrounding countryside for Saturday and Sunday where they will face #enduro, cross and extreme tests.
Fresh from his win at the Hawkstone Park Cross-Country, Nathan Watson made the switch to #motocross for one weekend to represent Great Britain at the #motocross of Nations. Back onboard his KTM 450 EXC-F, Watson will be aiming to maintain his strong run of form and hopefully come away from round seven with another podium.
Nathan Watson: “I’m really excited to race Solsona. It’s been a crazy month for me but I couldn’t have wished for better results. Hawkstone Park was amazing, to win in front of your home crowd is something else. Josep has that advantage here in #spain and there are a lot of wildcard riders that I think will upset the results a little, but if I can keep my head down and put in some good days’ riding, I’m confident of another top result.”
Living just 20 minutes away from the #event, BR2 #enduro Solsona is truly a home race for Josep Garcia. The Trefle Lozerien AMV winner, had a tough time at Hawkstone due to a hand injury he sustained just one week before the race. Now almost fully recovered, the young Spaniard will be looking to make amends and climb on to the top step of the #wess podium for the second time in 2019.
Josep Garcia: “I’ve been looking forward to BR2 #enduro Solsona all year. It’s more than just a Spanish race for me because it’s my home race – it’s happening really close to where I live and I know the area well. It’s where I’ve grown up and so all my family and friends will come to watch. I want to deliver a good result and fight for the win.”
Although regarded more as extreme #enduro specialists, Jonny Walker and Taddy Blazusiak have shown incredible pace at the faster #enduro events of this #wess season. Finishing third and fourth respectively at the Hawkstone Park Cross-Country earned the two long-standing teammates valuable #wess championship points to place them fourth and fifth in the current standings. Strong results at Solsona should further improve the pair’s positions ahead of the final hard #enduro round in Germany early November.
Jonny Walker: “I’m really looking forward to Solsona, especially after having such a good race at Hawkstone. After injuring my hand last year, it has taken quite a while to recover. It still gave me some issues in England but having had another two weeks to build up a bit more strength I think I’m ready for #spain. The plan is to give it my best shot and hopefully come away with another podium.”
Taddy Blazusiak: “I think Solsona is going to be a really cool race. It’s based where the Bassella race is at and so I think it’s going to be really spectator friendly. I know the area quite well, so hopefully that should give me a slight advantage. I’m really looking forward to it to be honest, it’ll be tough and there will be a lot of good riders there, but I’m still hoping for a good result.”
BR2 #enduro Solsona commences on the evening of Friday October 4 with a Supertest, followed by two days of classic #enduro in the hills close to Solsona, #spain on October 5-6.
