British Superbike Championship: Turbulent race weekend at Donington Park.

The #britishsuperbike Championship (BSB) headed to Donington Park (GBR) for its penultimate #event of the season, where BMW racers experienced a turbulent weekend. In the first of the two Superbike class (BSB SBK) races, Peter Hickman (GBR) only just missed out on the podium, finishing in fourth place with his Smiths #racing BMW S 1000 RR, however he retired from the second race due to a broken chain. Christian Iddon (GBR / Tyco BMW) finished in the top six in both races, crossing the finish line in sixth and fifth places. Alex Olsen (GBR), also representing Smiths #racing, finished in 16th and 13th. Joe Francis (GBR / Lloyd & Jones Bowker BMW Motorrad) was in 14th and 16th places when he saw the chequered flag.

Taylor Mackenzie (GBR) took on a dual role at Donington Park. In the Superbike class he rode for the Tyco BMW team, while in the Superstock class (BSB STK) he was in action for Bathams #racing as usual. Mackenzie was convincing with fast times in the Superbike sessions. However, while leading the Superstock race on Sunday morning, he had a heavy fall on the damp track. Together with Tyco BMW, the decision was made that he would no longer contest the races that followed. The best BMW rider in the Superstock race was Barry Teasdale (GBR / TwoTwoFour Racing) in eleventh.
