Dream start to 2020 season for Quartararo and Morbidelli

The 2020 #motogp World Championship has got off to a dream start for PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang #racing Team duo #fabioquartararo and #francomorbidelli, with the pair ending the first pre-season test of the new season at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in second and third place.
Concentrating on settings and riding style today after a busy day of trying new parts yesterday, Quartararo has made further progress in his understanding of the Yamaha YZR-M1 as he prepares to start his second season in the premier class. Spending much of the day fastest, he ended the two-day outing 0.164secs behind fellow Yamaha rider Maverick Viñales in second place.
Morbidelli continued the development work he started on the first day of the test today, working with a number of new chassis parts and aerodynamic modifications to try. Closing down P1 not only on time attack but also in race pace, he finished only 0.101 secs behind his teammate and 0.265secs down on Viñales in third place, with a fastest lap of 1’30.114.
The pair return to action next week at the Circuito de Jerez Ángel Nieto, with a further two-day outing on 25th and 26th November before MotoGP’s winter testing ban starts in December.
