Quick Return To Motorland For KRT

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

KRT riders #jonathanrea and #AlexLowes each have great motivation going into the second #MotorlandAragon based WorldSBK race meeting in as many weekends. Rea is looking to extend his championship lead once more after winning two races last time and Lowes is determined to get onto the podium once again.

Rea’s recent double success on the Ninja ZX-10RR saw him take a ten point lead into this coming weekend, which is called the Teruel Round. It will be the fifth of eight rounds in this shortened WorldSBK season.

With a Superpole win and a new lap record in the Tissot-Superpole race last Sunday morning Rea had one of the best weekends imaginable a few days ago, exceeding even his own high expectations in some ways.

Now recovering and recharging his body after a painful crash last Saturday Lowes is looking to get back to the kind of podium scoring level that characterised his first ever WorldSBK race weekend for Kawasaki, at round one in Australia.

The Teruel Round will be held between 4 and 6 September and the subsequent #Event will be held at an all-new venue for this championship, Catalunya, on the weekend of 18-20 September.

Jonathan Rea, stated: “We will come back to the Motorland circuit on Wednesday evening again after a couple of days of relaxing. Next weekend won’t be so stressful because we have a base set-up from the test and the recent race. My mechanics this past weekend did not want to change the bike too much. They asked me to change some things in my riding style. FP12 and FP2 will be calmer next week, because we have a lot of information. If the temperatures are the same it should be a calm weekend.”

Alex Lowes, stated: “After a difficult first weekend in Aragon I am looking forward to getting back there in a few days time. It started promisingly last weekend, with good pace on Friday and Saturday morning and then the start of the first race. After the crash we sort of lost our way a little bit. I was feeling the physical effects too, as it was a pretty big knock. I certainly felt a bit stiff when I woke up on Monday morning so I need to relax for a few days, recharge, get nice and healthy and then attack the weekend like we started last weekend. We have a few ideas with the bike too, and my target is to get back on the podium in green.”

Xavi Fores (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) hopes to make more improvements in his comeback WorldSBK season at the Teruel round, while Maximilian Scheib (Orelac #racing VerdNatura Kawasaki) is making progress already in his rookie WorldSBK campaign. Roman Ramos (Outdo Kawasaki TPR) will have his second Aragon-based weekend as a replacement for the injured team regular, Sandro Cortese.
