FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth: a duel at the Nürburgring between the Briton Jonny Edgar and the American Jak Crawford

  • On the Nürburgring circuit, the Briton #jonnyedgar and the American #jakcrawford won one race each. In the third race, victory for the Russian Vladislav Lomko
  • In the overall championship standings, the Briton Edgar retains first place followed by the American and the Finn Elias Seppänen

Last weekend on the famous Nürburgring circuit in Germany, the fourth #event of the #fiaadacf4championship powered by #abarth was held, with three different winners in the three compelling races.

The weekend was characterized by rain and ever-changing weather conditions from the qualifiers onwards, with all three races affected by rain.

At the starting line, the first race took place on a dry track and saw the American #jakcrawford (Van Amersfoort Racing) leading from pole position. He maintained the lead throughout the race, which ended with the safety car because of the heavy rain. In second place was the German Joshua Dürksen (ADAC Berlin Brandenburg e V.), who clashed with the Briton #jonnyedgar in his eagerness to gain precious championship points. Francesco Pizzi (Van Amersfoort Racing) also strove for the podium, finishing up in fifth place, having been overtaken by the German Tim Tramnitz (US Racing) in the final stage of the race, by when it had started to rain.

Everything changed in Race2: a wet track and a departure behind the safety car, which left the track after two laps. The poleman Edgar at first kept the lead in the race, but soon after, he had to let the Frenchman Victor Bernier (R-ace GP) and Seppänen overtake him, after a touch nearly caused him to spin out. But the Briton proved unstoppable and began a comeback, first overtaking Seppänen, then Bernier, who went off the track. In third place was the Briton Oliver Bearman. Crawford took a good fourth place, strengthening his second placing in the overall rankings.

The last race saw the Russian #vladislavlomko (US Racing) gain his first ever success, favored by his pole position, the first eight positions on the starting grid having been inverted as planned for Race3. The Russian managed to keep calm and resisted challenges from the German Tramnitz, while Crawford managed to finish up in third place, keeping himself in the run for the championship, with Edgar, who received points for his sixth place.

After these results, the overall standings in the German championship see the Briton Edgar (Van Amersfoort Racing) in the lead with 184 points, against 154 points for the American #jakcrawford, who has overtaken the Finn Elias Seppänen with his 152 points.

The next #event for the F4 single-seaters of the #fiaadacf4championship powered by #abarth is scheduled for October 16th to 18th on the Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria. The single-seaters with an #abarth engine will race next weekend, October 2nd to 4th, on the Mugello Circuit, where the fourth race of the Italian F4 Championship powered by #abarth will take place.
