This weekend was the second meeting of the new Spanish #extremeenduro Championship in #larioja. The race was held on terrain that was very desert like and very technical. It is becoming an extremely popular championship, it brought together 260 entries for this second round, with several top riders among them, including our #extremeenduro rider #marioroman.

Mario had a good start by placing first in the prologue on Saturday this gave him a front row starting position for the race on Sunday. Despite this great position, he had a complicated start to the race, with a collision at the first corner and a fall that relegated him to the middle of the pack. He then fought hard and climbed back up, overtaking all his competitors one by one until he took the lead.

He was then able to continue at his own pace, widening the gap over the laps and winning this second #event, thus improving his preparation for the upcoming Hard #enduro World Championship.

"The race was fantastic and very tough. The whole weekend went very well with the team. My mechanic David did a great job as usual adjusting the 300 SE. We worked on this race with great anticipation. This was good preparation for participating in the FIM World Championship with my new bike for the 2021 season. I immediately felt good, the bike felt excellent, and we were able to get the settings right.

It feels good to have a race at this time of the year, it would have been nice to have been able to do 6. I am however incredibly grateful to the Spanish federation for organizing this championship under the current conditions, I want to say thank you to the promoters for holding these races. It has been good training for us, I feel in great shape and ready for the rest of the season."
