Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – All’Estoril Oettl è secondo al termine di una grande gara
Il #kawasakipuccettiracing ha disputato oggi all'autodromo dell'Estoril in Portogallo la Superpole e la prima gara del secondo round del Campionato Mondiale Supersport. Dopo che nella giornata di ieri #philippoettl e Can Oncu erano scesi in pista per le due sessioni di prove libere, concluse rispettivamente al quarto ed al tredicesimo posto, questa mattina, in una giornata di sole e di forte vento, i due piloti della squadra di Manuel Puccetti sono tornati sul tracciato portoghese per disputare la Superpole, che ha deciso la griglia di partenza delle due gare portoghesi.
Oettl è stato ancora una volta autore di un'ottima prestazione e con il tempo di 1'40"094 ha terminato la sessione al secondo posto, conquistando così la prima fila sullo schieramento di partenza delle gare. La fortuna non ha certamente aiutato Oncu. Il turco è scivolato nelle prime fasi del turno ed ha potuto rientrare in pista solo a pochi minuti dalla fine, riuscendo comunque a fermare i cronometri sul tempo di 1'41"331 ed ottenendo il dodicesimo posto, che significa una partenza dalla quarta fila nelle due gare.
La terza gara del #worldss 2012 ha preso il via nel pomeriggio, e si è disputata sulla distanza di 18 giri.
Oettl scattava bene allo spegnersi del semaforo e si portava prima in terza e poi in seconda posizione. Nel corso del quarto giro il tedesco andava a condurre la gara, primo di un gruppo di 6 piloti. Grazie ad un ritmo costantemente veloce Philipp manteneva il primo posto sino all'ultimo giro, quando veniva superato e tagliava il traguardo a soli tre decimi dal vincitore.
La sfortuna sembra accanirsi con Can Oncu. Il giovane turco era tredicesimo al primo giro, ma iniziava una rimonta che lo portava sino al settimo posto, quando purtroppo nel corso del tredicesimo passaggio, a causa di un problema tecnico, era costretto ad interrompere la sua rimonta e a tornare al proprio box.
Domani ancora all'autodromo dell'Estoril, Oettl e Oncu disputeranno la seconda ed ultima gara del secondo round #worldss.

Kawasaki Puccetti #racing – Oettl finishes a great #estoril race in second place.
Kawasaki Puccetti #racing has completed today's Superpole and the first race making up this second Supersport World Championship round at the #estoril circuit in #portugal. Yesterday saw #philippoettl and Can Oncu complete the two free practice sessions, the riders finishing fourth and thirteenth respectively. This morning, in sunny but windy conditions, Manuel Puccetti's riders were back out for the Superpole, which established the starting grid for the weekend's two races.
Oettl once again put in a great performance and, with a time of 1'40"094, he finished the session second, earning himself a front row start for the races. Luck was not on Oncu's side. The Turk crashed during the early stages of the session and was only able to return to the track towards the end. He nevertheless set a time of 1'41"331 and finished twelfth, meaning a fourth row start for the two races.
The third race of the 2021 #worldss season got underway in the afternoon, running over a distance of 18 laps.
Oettl got away well when the lights went out and moved into third and then second position. During the fourth lap, the German was even leading the race, first in a group of six riders. A consistently fast pace allowed Philipp to hold first until the very last lap, when he was passed, meaning he crossed the line just three tenths of a second behind the winner.
The bad luck continued for Can Oncu. The young Turk was lying thirteenth on lap one but then began to make a good recovery, climbing up to seventh place. Unfortunately during lap thirteen, a technical problem forced him to interrupt his race and return to the garage.
Oettl and Oncu will return to #estoril for the second and final race of this second #worldss round.
