Steven Odendaal e l'Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team non finiscono di stupire. Dopo la doppietta ottenuta ad Aragon, il sabato di #Estoril ha regalato un'altra gioia al pilota sudafricano ed al team ravennate, capaci di vincere la terza gara su altrettante disputate. Anche quest'oggi il successo è arrivato al termine di una corsa dall'esito incerto, dove la strategia del pilota e la velocità della #moto hanno giocato un ruolo fondamentale. 


Odendaal ed il Team Campione del Mondo in carica hanno inaugurato il proprio day 2 scendendo in pista per la Superpole, per conquistare una buona casella sullo schieramento di partenza. Dopo un inizio leggermente complicato a causa del traffico, Steven è riuscito a sfruttare al meglio la sua Yamaha YZF-R6 e le gomme nuove, ottenendo nell'ultimo passaggio a disposizione il terzo tempo, grazie al crono di 1'40"184, a solo due decimi dalla pole position. 

Alle 16.15 italiane è scattata Gara 1, con Odendaal bravo a scattare nel migliore dei modi, conquistando subito la prima piazza. Nel corso del terzo giro il sudafricano è passato secondo, posizione mantenuta strategicamente fino al finale di gara, dove la lotta per la vittoria si è ristretta a quattro piloti. All'inizio dell'ultimo passaggio Steven ha compiuto la sua mossa, superando il leader momentaneo Oettl e difendendo ottimamente la prima posizione fino alla bandiera a scacchi. 

Per il sudafricano si tratta del terzo successo in tre gare, che rafforza la sua prima posizione in classifica generale, dove può contare su un vantaggio di 31 punti nei confronti di Aegerter. Domani l'Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team scenderà in pista nuovamente sul tracciato di #Estoril, prima per il Warm Up (ore 10.25 italiane) e poi per Gara 2, in programma alle 13.30 italiane e visibile live sul canale 205 di Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "Ho iniziato la gara con l'idea di spingere sin da subito, ma quando Oettl mi ha passato ho deciso di seguirlo, per capire se fosse possibile trarre qualche informazione utile, dato che soffrivo particolarmente nell'ultimo settore. A tre giri dalla fine ho deciso di attaccare, dato che ero consapevole di avere alcuni piloti alle spalle e volevo evitare rischi, salvo poi tornare secondo. All'ultimo giro ho riconquistato la prima posizione, che ho difeso con tutto me stesso fino al traguardo. Questa vittoria è importante per me, per la squadra e per la classifica, che si sta configurando nella maniera migliore possibile. Domani voglio solo godermi la gara, e vedere come andrà".

Steven Odendaal and the Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team never cease to amaze. After the double win at Aragon, the Saturday at #Estoril brought another joy to the South African rider and the team from Ravenna, who were able to win their third race in as many races. Once again the victory came at the end of a race with an uncertain outcome, where the rider's strategy and the speed of the bike played a fundamental role. 

Odendaal and the reigning World Champion team started their day 2 by taking to the track for Superpole, in order to gain a good spot on the starting grid. After a slightly complicated start due to traffic, Steven was able to get the most out of his Yamaha YZF-R6 and new tyres, setting the third fastest time on the last lap with a time of 1'40"184, just two tenths from pole position. 

At 16.15 Italian time Race 1 started, with Odendaal able to start in the best way, immediately conquering the first place. During the third lap the South African passed second, a position strategically maintained until the end of the race, where the fight for victory was reduced to four riders. At the start of the last lap Steven made his move, overtaking the momentary leader Oettl and defending first place well until the chequered flag. 

For the South African it was his third win in three races, which strengthens his first position in the overall standings, where he can count on a 31-point advantage over Aegerter. Tomorrow the Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team will be back on track at #Estoril, first for the Warm Up (10.25 Italian time) and then for Race 2, scheduled at 13.30 Italian time and visible live on Sky channel 205.

Steven Odendaal:"I started the race with the idea of pushing from the beginning, but when Oettl passed me I decided to follow him, to see if I could get some useful information, as I was particularly suffering in the last sector. Three laps from the end I decided to attack, as I was aware that there were some riders behind me and I wanted to avoid risks, but then I came back second. On the last lap I regained the first position, which I defended with all my might until the finish line. This victory is important for me, for the team and for the classification, which is shaping up in the best possible way. Tomorrow I just want to enjoy the race and see how it goes".
