Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – All’Estoril Oettl sale ancora sul podio WorldSS! Progressi per Oncu
Quarta gara del Campionato mondiale Supersport per il #kawasakipuccettiracing all'autodromo dell'Estoril in Portogallo.
La terza gara disputata ieri si era conclusa con il secondo gradino del #podio per #philippoettl, mentre Can Oncu si era purtroppo dovuto ritirare per un problema tecnico.
Dopo il warm up del mattino nel quale i due piloti hanno raffinato il set up delle loro ZX-6R, la gara conclusiva di questo secondo round del #worldss ha preso il via nel pomeriggio, e si è disputata sulla distanza di 18 giri. Così come ieri, a seguito dei risultati ottenuti nella Superpole, Oettl è scattato dalla prima fila, mentre Oncu dalla quarta.
Ottima partenza per Philipp, che si portava in testa alla gara. Anche il pilota turco scattava bene al via ed era sesto al termine del primo giro. Nei giri successivi Oettl restava in testa alla gara in un gruppo di tre piloti, mentre Oncu perdeva una posizione restando comunque assieme agli immediati inseguitori. Nei giri finali i piloti del gruppo di testa iniziavano a scambiarsi le posizioni, mentre Oncu purtroppo perdeva contatto con i primi, pur mantenendo al settima posizione. Lottando in ogni curva Oettl conquistava la terza posizione mentre Oncu terminava al settimo posto.
Nella classifica del campionato Oettl occupa ora la terza posizione con 52 punti, mentre Oncu è tredicesimo con 17.
Il prossimo appuntamento con il Campionato Mondiale Supersport è fissato per il weekend del 11, 12 e 13 giugno al Misano World Circuit in Italia.

Kawasaki Puccetti #racing – Oettl back on the #estoril #worldss podium! Progress for Oncu
Kawasaki Puccetti #racing has completed the fourth race of the Supersport world championship at the #estoril circuit in #portugal.
Philipp Oettl concluded yesterday's third race on the second step of the podium, while Can Oncu unfortunately had to retire due to a technical problem.
After the morning's warm-up in which the two riders refined the set-up of their ZX-6R bikes, the final race of this second #worldss round got underway this afternoon, running over a distance of 18 laps. Yesterday's Superpole results meant that Oettl started from the front row, and Oncu from the fourth.
Philipp made a great start, immediately moving into the lead. The Turkish rider also made a good start and was lying sixth at the end of lap one. Over subsequent laps, Oettl held the lead, part of a group of three riders, while Oncu lost a position but remained part of the chasing group. In the final laps, the riders in the leading group began to exchange positions, while Oncu unfortunately lost contact with the frontrunners, despite maintaining seventh place. Fighting through every corner, Oettl crossed the line third, while Oncu finished seventh.
In the championship standings, Oettl lies third with 52 points, while Oncu is thirteenth with 17.
The next Supersport World Championship round will take place over the weekend of 11-13 June at the Misano World Circuit in Italy.
