Casa dolce casa: L'Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team sbarca a Misano per il terzo round della stagione 2021
Dopo aver iniziato ottimamente la propria annata 2021, con tre vittorie nelle prime quattro manches disputate, l'Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team è pronto per il suo round di casa. Questo fine settimana infatti il mondiale Supersport sbarca al #misanoworldcircuit "Marco Simoncelli", per il terzo round della stagione.
Il portacolori del team ravennate #stevenodendaal arriva all'appuntamento italiano forte delle eccellenti prestazioni sfoderate sia ad Aragon che ad Estoril, che gli permettono di guidare la classifica generale con 75 punti. Il pilota sudafricano potrà inoltre contare sul lavoro compiuto insieme al team nei test svolti proprio a Misano a metà marzo, che hanno tra l'altro rappresentato il primo incontro tra Odendaal ed il team Campione del Mondo in carica.
L'Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team occupa attualmente la seconda posizione nella classifica riservata ai team, ed è pronto a mettersi al lavoro per tentare di replicare i risultati ottenuti a Misano nel 2019, ossia l'ultima volta in cui la Supersport è sbarcata in Romagna, quando il team ravennate riuscì a centrare una storica quanto splendida doppietta.
Il round alle porte dovrà sottostare alle vigenti normative anti Covid che, in linea con lo "Scenario 1" imposto da Dorna, vedrà presente nel paddock solo il personale strettamente necessario, mentre per la prima volta in stagione gli spalti potranno essere occupati da 5007 spettatori al giorno. Come di consueto il programma del weekend inizierà venerdì con le prime prove libere, mentre sabato sarà il momento di Superpole e Gara 1, con Gara 2 a chiudere il programma nella giornata di domenica. Sia la Superpole che le due gare saranno visibili su Sky Sport MotoGP, canale 208 di Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "Misano è la gara di casa del team, quindi sono più motivato che mai a dare il massimo. Su questa pista ho inoltre svolto il primo test con l'Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team, trovandomi subito a mio agio, quindi sono convinto che anche questo fine settimana potremo fare un ottimo lavoro. Il primo obiettivo è quello di iniziare a lavorare al meglio già dal venerdì, cercando tra l'altro di conoscere il più rapidamente possibile il comportamento della nuova gomma morbida che avremo a disposizione, per poi puntare al podio o alla vittoria. Purtroppo non potremo avere con noi in pista tutti i partner e gli amici del team, ma cercheremo comunque di festeggiare con un il Prosecco anche per loro".
Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "Siamo molto felici di disputare la nostra gara di casa, per la quale non possiamo che essere ottimisti. Il test svolto a Misano con Steven è stato positivo, ma non abbiamo dubbi sul fatto che sarà un weekend impegnativo: vi saranno tanti piloti veloci, sia italiani che non, ma sono altrettanto sicuro che Steven sarà tra i protagonisti. Attualmente è circa al 70% della forma, ma darà il 110% per farci divertire a due passi da casa".
Home sweet home: Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team arrives at Misano for round three of the 2021 season
After a strong start to the 2021 season, with three wins in the first four manches, the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team is ready for its home round. This weekend in fact the world Supersport championship lands at the #misanoworldcircuit "Marco Simoncelli", for the third round of the season.
Steven Odendaal arrives at the Italian round on the strength of his excellent performances at both Aragon and Estoril, thanks to which he leads the overall standings with 75 points. The South African will also be able to build on the work done with the team during the Misano test in mid-March, which was the first meeting between Odendaal and the reigning World Champion team.
The Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team currently occupies second position in the team standings and is ready to work to repeat the results achieved at Misano in 2019, the last time the Supersport team travelled to Romagna, when they scored a historic one-two.
The upcoming round will have to comply with the current anti-Covid regulations which, in line with the "Scenario 1" imposed by Dorna, will see only the strictly necessary personnel present in the paddock, while for the first time this season the stands will be able to be occupied by 5007 spectators per day. As usual the weekend's programme will start on Friday with the first free practice, while on Saturday it will be time for Superpole and Race 1, with Race 2 closing the programme on Sunday. Both the Superpole and the two races will be visible on Sky Sport MotoGP, channel 208 of Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "Misano is the team's home race, so I'm more motivated than ever to give my best. I also had my first test here with the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team and I felt comfortable right away, so I'm sure we can do a great job this weekend. The first objective is to start working as hard as possible on Friday, trying to get to know the behaviour of the new soft tyre as quickly as possible and then aim for a podium or a win. Unfortunately we won't be able to have all the team's partners and friends with us on the track, but we'll try to celebrate with a Prosecco for them too".
Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "We are very happy to have our home race, for which we can only be optimistic. The test carried out at Misano with Steven was positive, but we have no doubt that it will be a challenging weekend: there will be many fast riders, both Italian and not, but I'm equally sure that Steven will be among the protagonists. At the moment he's about 70% fit, but he'll give 110% to make sure we have a good time just a stone's throw from home".
