Venerdì completato a Misano: ottima 2° posizione per Odendaal e l’Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team

Prima giornata di prove al #misano World Circuit "Marco Simoncelli" per l'Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team, impegnato sul circuito di casa per il terzo round del campionato mondiale Supersport. Il team Campione del Mondo in carica ed il suo portacolori #stevenodendaal hanno subito ottenuto ottimi risultati, con la seconda posizione nella classifica combinata, ricavando al contempo alcune importanti informazioni in vista delle due giornate di gara. 


Nelle FP1 della mattinata il pilota sudafricano ha lavorato per l'intera durata della sessione con la medesima coppia di pneumatici, mettendo a referto 18 giri. 1'39"041 il miglior tempo di Steven, che gli è valso l'ottava posizione in classifica, alle spalle di diversi piloti già alle prese con i primi attacchi al tempo del weekend. 
Nel pomeriggio (ore 16.00) è andata in scena la FP2, caratterizzata da un leggero aumento delle temperature, dove Odendaal ha iniziato a mostrare il suo grande potenziale. Dopo una prima parte di turno incentrata sul lavoro in ottica gara, nel finale il sudafricano ha montato per la prima volta la gomma SCX, riuscendo ad abbassare il proprio miglior crono di circa quattro decimi, ed ottenendo soprattutto la seconda piazza. 
Terminato positivamente il venerdì, Odendaal e l'Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team sono pronti per la giornata di sabato, dove andranno in scena la Superpole (ore 10.25) e soprattutto Gara 1 (15.15). Entrambe le sessioni saranno visibili live su Sky Sport MotoGP, canale 208 di Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "E' stata una giornata abbastanza positiva. Non abbiamo lavorato particolarmente con la nuova gomma, dato che ci siamo concentrati sull'ottenere il massimo dalle altre mescole, ma una volta montata abbiamo subito notato il miglioramento. Dobbiamo sistemare alcuni piccoli problemi in vista di domani, ma possiamo certamente essere fiduciosi. La squadra ha iniziato a lavorare come sempre nel migliore dei modi, e spero domani di potergli regalare un #podio nella sua gara di casa".

First day of testing at the #misano World Circuit "Marco Simoncelli" for the Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team, busy at their home circuit for the third round of the Supersport World Championship. The reigning World Champion team and its rider #stevenodendaal immediately obtained excellent results, with the second position in the combined standings, while gaining some important information ahead of the two-day race. 


In this morning's FP1 the South African rider worked for the entire session on the same pair of tyres, clocking 18 laps. Steven's best time was 1'39"041, which put him in eighth position in the standings, behind several riders already dealing with their first time attacks of the weekend. 
In the afternoon (16.00) was held FP2, characterized by a slight increase in temperature, where Odendaal started to show his great potential. After a first part of the session focused on the work in view of the race, in the final part of the session the South African has mounted for the first time the SCX tyre, managing to lower his best time of about four tenths, and obtaining the second place. 
After a successful Friday, Odendaal and the Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team are ready for Saturday's Superpole (10.25) and Race 1 (15.15). Both sessions will be visible live on Sky Sport MotoGP, channel 208 of Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "It was a pretty positive day. We didn't work particularly hard with the new tyre, as we concentrated on getting the most out of the other compounds, but once we had it on we immediately noticed the improvement. We need to fix a few small problems ahead of tomorrow, but we can certainly be confident. The team has started to work as always in the best way, and I hope tomorrow I can give him a podium in his home race".
