Odendaal e l’Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team brindano sul podio nel sabato di Misano

Ottima seconda giornata d'azione a #misano per l'Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team, capace di conquistare sul proprio circuito di casa il terzo gradino del #podio in Gara 1. Questo grazie al fantastico operato del suo portacolori #stevenodendaal, che sfruttando al meglio il grande lavoro del team Campione del Mondo in carica è oggi arrivato a quota quattro podi in sole cinque manche.


Il day 2 di #misano si è aperto con la Superpole, che ha delineato lo schieramento per Gara 1 e Gara 2. Odendaal ha ben figurato nell'arco dei 25 minuti a disposizione, migliorando progressivamente il proprio crono fino al definitivo 1'37"908, che gli è valso la sesta casella della griglia, a soli 182 millesimi dalla pole position. 
Alle 15.15 si sono spenti i semafori di Gara 1, che ha visto il pilota sudafricano partire ottimamente, recuperando già alla prima curva alcune posizioni, per poi transitare per la prima volta sul traguardo in seconda piazza. Steven è rimasto in questa posizione, a stretto contatto con la testa della corsa, sino al giro numero 13, quando ha dovuto cedere il passo a Bernardi. 
Negli ultimi passaggi Odendaal ha gestito con intelligenza la terza piazza, raccogliendo un #podio eccellente ed utile per la classifica generale, dove Steven occupa ora la seconda posizione, a tre soli punti dal leader. Domani sarà nuovamente race day, con Gara 2 programmata per le ore 12.30, e preceduta al mattino dal warm up (ore 9.25). La corsa sarà trasmessa in diretta su Sky Sport MotoGP, canale 208 di Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "La prima parte di gara è stata positiva, dato che sono riuscito subito a fare parte del gruppo di testa, seguendo Aegerter senza problemi. Nei giri successivi però non sono riuscito a mantenere il suo ritmo, e Bernardi è stato bravo a raggiungermi e passarmi. Sul finale ho pensato di poterlo attaccare, ma il poco grip al posteriore me lo ha impedito. Il fatto che in una giornata tutto sommato negativa abbiamo conquistato la terza posizione è ottimo, dato che ribadisce il nostro valore: abbiamo guadagnato punti importanti per il campionato, e domani cercheremo di attaccare nuovamente, cercando di migliorare ulteriormente il nostro pacchetto".

A great second day of action at #misano for the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team, which was able to take the third step of the podium in Race 1 at its home circuit. This was thanks to the fantastic work of its rider #stevenodendaal, who made the most of the great work of the reigning World Champion team and now has four podiums in just five manche. 


Day 2 at #misano opened with the Superpole, which defined the grid for Race 1 and Race 2. Odendaal performed well during the 25 minutes available, gradually improving his time up to the final 1'37"908, which earned him the sixth place on the grid, just 182 thousandths from the pole position. 
At 15.15 the lights went out for Race 1, which saw the South African rider get off to a great start, recovering some positions from the first corner, and then crossing the line at the end of the first lap in second place. Steven remained in this position, in close contact with the head of the race, until lap number 13, when he had to give way to Bernardi. 
In the last few laps Odendaal intelligently managed third place, collecting an excellent and useful podium for the overall standings, where Steven now occupies second position, just three points behind the leader. Tomorrow will be race day again, with Race 2 scheduled for 12.30, and preceded in the morning by the warm up (9.25). The race will be broadcast live on Sky Sport MotoGP, channel 208 of Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "The first part of the race was positive, as I was able to be part of the leading group right away, following Aegerter without any problems. In the following laps I couldn't keep up with his pace and Bernardi was able to catch up and pass me. At the end I thought I could attack him, but the lack of rear grip prevented me from doing so. The fact that in a day all in all negative we gained the third position is very good, as it reaffirms our value: we gained important points for the championship, and tomorrow we will try to attack again, trying to further improve our package".
