Berlin, here we come: The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team’s second season in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship comes to an end next weekend (14/15 August) with a double-header in Berlin. The 2.355 km circuit laid out on the apron of the former Tempelhof airport will be driven clockwise on Saturday and anti-clockwise on Sunday. Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries have fond memories of last year’s final race of the season in the German capital, when they secured a maiden one-two victory for Mercedes-EQ in the all-electric #racing series. The team goes into the final weekend as a contender for both championship titles and will be aiming to carry forward the momentum from the recent E-Prix in London. You can follow the Formula E world championship decider via the team’s social media channels on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, or find out more about how to watch all the sessions live in your part of the world by following this link.

Mercedes-AMG continues to lead the #dtm manufacturers’ championship: In Sunday’s race at Circuit Zolder, Maximilian Götz (GER) claimed a fifth podium finish of the current #dtm season for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. Driving the number 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Mercedes-AMG Team HRT, he mounted a furious charge from eighth on the grid to finish the race in second place. Lucas Auer (AUT) of Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD (#22) was also on course for the podium but was ultimately classified fifth after incurring a time penalty.

Götz and Auer had already scored valuable championship points in the first race on Saturday, finishing seventh and ninth respectively. A P4 for Vincent Abril (MCO) in the #5 of Mercedes-AMG Team HRT and a P8 for Philip Ellis (SUI) in the #57 of Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD ensured that there were no fewer than four Mercedes-AMG GT3s finishing in the Top Ten on the day. The performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach amassed a grand total of 30 points in the two rounds in Belgium and now leads the manufacturers’ standings by a 16-point margin after three of eight scheduled events.

The next two rounds of the 2021 #dtm will be hosted by the Nürburgring on the weekend of 20 ‑ 22 August.

Double podium and class win in North America: The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race in Plymouth (USA) ended with both WINWARD #racing Mercedes-AMG GT4s in the Top Three. Alec Udell and Bryce Ward (both USA) in the number 57 car crossed the finish line in second place, followed by third-placed Indy Dontje (NED) and Russell Ward (USA) in the number 4 car.

The GT America #event on the street circuit in Nashville also culminated in podium celebrations. Chris Cagnazzi (USA) at the wheel of the #39 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 took the GT4 class win in the second of the two 40-minute races. David Askew (USA) driving the number 63 Mercedes-AMG GT3 entered by DXDT #racing finished third in the Masters class.
