BARCIA, MOSIMAN AND BROWN ALL LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING ON THE GAS IN 2022

And just like that, our first season of AMA Pro #motocross action is done and dusted! And what a season it was. Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory #racing had plenty to celebrate in its first year of #racing on American soil. With a strong line-up of #justinbarcia in the 450MX class, as well as #michaelmosiman and #piercebrown competing in the 250MX category, the newly bonded team experienced it all during 2021. From the highs of first-time wins, through the tough breaks of injury, and everything in between, one thing is for sure – our guys were on the gas this summer!

Coming off a momentous season in the AMA Supercross Championship, #justinbarcia and the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory #racing team had high expectations for their first outdoor season together. Barcia has never been one to disappoint at a season opener and he came out swinging in true BAM BAM fashion, giving #gasgas Factory #racing its first-ever 450MX moto-podium with an exciting performance at Fox Raceway.

Establishing himself as a contender early on, he collected his first overall podium of the season in front of a roaring hometown crowd at The Wick 338 National in Massachusetts, which set the stage for his next big milestone – securing the #gasgas its first overall victory at Spring Creek.

On track for a top-three finish in the overall standings, Barcia suffered an unfortunate practice crash that kept him out of the last five rounds of the series. But the New York native is already healed up and ready to get on the gas at the start of 2022.

In the 250MX division, #michaelmosiman and #piercebrown brought an enjoyable dynamic to the team, both showing that they’re fierce competitors on the track! Mosiman’s highlight reel includes four moto-podiums on his MC 250F, including a breakthrough ride at the Spring Creek National to give #gasgas its first 250MX podium on the same day that his teammate Barcia claimed victory in the premier division. Mosiman had some minor injuries that kept him sidelined for three rounds but the young California native finished strong with second overall at Fox Raceway II, which has fueled his fire to come back even stronger in 2022.

In his first full season outdoors in the pro ranks, #piercebrown showed flashes of brilliance aboard his MC 250F. The Utah native collected several top-10s in the first half of the season and he delivered a career-best fifth overall at round seven before suffering a season-ending injury at the following round. The young rider is healing up nicely and should be ready to hit it hard during the offseason, eager to show what he’s got in 2022.

Justin Barcia: “The first season in outdoors with the whole Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory #racing team was awesome, it was just so much fun battling with the guys, going for race wins and just learning the team and the all-new #gasgas brand. It was definitely one of my most fun seasons going and it was really cool to get our first win for #gasgas, that was super special. Unfortunately, we had a little hiccup towards the end of the season and missed a few rounds but we’re just getting all healed up and ready to go for next year. We have a lot to look forward to in 2022, obviously the goal is a lot bigger and we’re super motivated to battle for championships!”

Michael Mosiman: “It’s been an awesome first year with the team! We have learned a lot in our first season together and we’ve got so much to build on for next season. I’m so proud of the team and proud of myself for everything we’ve accomplished this year but I know there’s so much more to come. I’m looking forward to resting up during the off-season and then it’s time to get back to work and put things in place for our best season yet in 2022!”

Pierce Brown: “All-in-all, we made some big leaps from last year with a podium in SX and top-five in MX, so that was a step in the right direction, for sure. One of my main goals at the start of this year was to make it to every round and that didn’t happen, which I’m pretty bummed about, but we’re going to clean up some mistakes for next year and that should bring the consistency and better results will come. We’re going to regroup in this offseason right now and come out swinging for 2022. Thanks to the team and everyone for making all this happen, I know it was a tough year but everyone is still behind me 100% because they know my capability and I can’t wait to show them.”

After his first season aboard the new #gasgas effort, Team Manager #tylerkeefe is stoked on the foundation his team has built in 2021 and he’s looking ahead to bigger and better things come next season!

Tyler Keefe: “Our first season of outdoors went really good! We started out strong with a couple top-five finishes at the first few rounds and then Justin came out and won Spring Creek, which was huge for the team as the first win for #gasgas in the 450MX class, and to top it off, Michael got second overall on the 250 that same day. We had a few little hiccups with some injuries during the break but overall, I think it was really good and it’s something we can build on for 2022 and try to get some more wins!”
