Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Oncu sesto causa gomme, dopo una grande gara. Oettl in top ten
Si è concluso oggi al Pertamina #mandalika International Street Circuit in #indonesia il Campionato Mondiale Supersport. Dopo che ieri i piloti del #kawasakipuccettiracing Can Oncu e #philippoettl avevano concluso rispettivamente al settimo ed al dodicesimo posto una gara resa difficile dalla pioggia, caduta a tratti, oggi i due sono tronati in pista per disputare l'ultima gara della stagione 2021.
Così come ieri, ed in conseguenza dei risultati ottenuti nella Superpole, sia il turco che il tedesco hanno preso il via dalla settima ed ottava casella in terza fila, nella gara che si è disputata su pista asciutta.
Fantastica partenza di Oncu, che si è portato in testa, mentre Oettl era ottavo. Il giovane pilota turco ha lottato nel gruppo di testa alternandosi nei primi giri tra la prima e la seconda posizione. Nel proseguo della gara Can è rimasto con i primi in un gruppo composto da sei piloti, mentre Philipp era nono, nel gruppo dei diretti inseguitori. A sei giri dal termine purtroppo a causa di un calo delle gomme Oncu ha perso aderenza all'anteriore, riuscendo a non cadere ma scendendo sino alla sesta posizione, che ha mantenuto sino alla bandiera a scacchi, mentre Oettl ha tagliato il traguardo al nono posto.
Nella classifica finale del mondiale Supersport 2021 Oettl ha concluso al quinto posto con 252 punti, seguito dal suo compagno di squadra Oncu con 182.

Oncu sixth due to tyres, after a great race. Oettl in the top ten
The 2021 Supersport World Championship concluded today at the Pertamina #mandalika International Street Circuit in #indonesia. Having finished yesterday's rain-affected race in seventh and twelfth place, #kawasakipuccettiracing riders Can Oncu and #philippoettl pair returned to the track today for the final race of the 2021 season.Like yesterday, the Turk and the German lined up in seventh and eighth place for the race based on the results they scored in Superpole. Today's race ran on a dry track.
Oncu made a fantastic start, moving immediately into the leading group while Oettl was eighth. The young Turk battled it out at the sharp end, oscillating between first and second position in the early stages. As the race went on, Can remained at the front, one of a group of six riders, while Philipp lay ninth, part of the chasing pack. With six laps to go, unfortunately a drop in tyre performance caused Oncu to lose traction at the front. He was able to stay upright but fell back to sixth, a position he then held to the line, while Oettl concluded the race in ninth place.
In the final 2021 Supersport World Championship standings, Oettl places fifth with 252 points, followed by team-mate Oncu with 182.
