Following the Berlin E-Prix, where #jeanericvergne claimed a fine third place on Sunday April 23, the #abbfiaformulaeworldchampionship held its ‘rookie test’ today. This was a day of timed testing for drivers with no previous experience of Formula E, designed to identify future talents in the all-electric series.
The #dspenske team fielded two excellent drivers from well-known teams: Britain’s Will Stevens, currently in the Hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship, and Robert Shwartzman: Scuderia Ferrari’s Formula 1 reserve driver, from Russia and Israel.
The #dspenske rookies, getting to grips both with the Tempelhof circuit and the DS E-TENSE FE23 at the same time, perfectly managed to extract the potential of the car developed by DS Performance.
At the end of the test day, which involved 23 young talents, Robert Shwartzman and Will Stevens finished in seventh and 14th places respectively.
Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance Director
“The rookie test is always a special moment. Firstly because the tests give the possibility to young talents to test an extremely competitive #racing car, such as our DS E-TENSE FE23, which has characteristics that require a completely different driving technique compared to an internal combustion engine. But these tests are also an important moment for the team, as they allow us to get feedback, advice and suggestions from experienced young drivers like Robert and Will. All this is very useful to improve our DS E-TENSE FE23.”
