F1: Return to the streets of Monaco

Formula One is back on the streets of Monaco! With the cancellation of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, what would have been a triple-header now becomes a double-header, the first instalment of which takes place in the Principality this weekend. The crown jewel in the #f1 #racing calendar is followed one week later by the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya just outside Barcelona.

This year's #monaco Grand Prix will be the 80th running of the #event, and the 69^th as part of the #f1 World Championship. The unforgettable Ayrton Senna holds the record for most victories on the street circuit (six) ahead of Graham Hill and Michael Schumacher on a tally of five each. The most successful driver still active in #f1 is Lewis Hamilton who has registered three victories so far (2008, 2016, 2019) on the Circuit de #monaco. Ayrton Senna's five pole positions also make him the most successful driver in qualifying.

In the team stakes, McLaren are way out ahead on 15 victories, followed by Ferrari on nine. Mercedes-AMG has won five times in #monaco so far, three times with Nico Rosberg (2013-2015) and twice with Lewis (2016, 2019). Lewis also holds both the track record (1:10.166) and the fastest race lap record (1:12.909).

Vision for the future: A sustainable High-Performance Campus in Brackley

Earlier this week, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS #f1 Team unveiled the next phase of the £70 million transformation of its Brackley site into a state-of-the-art #f1 campus of the future. Since 2017, the team has undertaken and completed more than 30 different projects to adapt the design and production facilities at the factory.

In the next phase, land acquisitions will enable the expansion of the site, including the creation of a new Health and Wellness Centre and a marketing building that will allow for the further expansion of the design offices in the main technical centre. In line with the brand's 2026 and 2030 sustainability targets, the new buildings will be powered by 100% renewable energy from internal and external sources.

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS #f1 Team intent on major emissions reduction through the use of biofuels

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS #f1 Team is aiming for an emissions reduction of more than 60% and a saving of 200 tonnes of CO₂ during the European leg of the #f1 season through the use of biofuels. The team is working with Title and Technical Partner PETRONAS, as well as its regular logistics providers, to achieve the target of a European itinerary run entirely on biofuel. A successful trial in 2022 resulted in an 89% reduction in CO₂ freight emissions.

Servicing nine race events across Europe, the fleet of Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks that carry all the freight required at each venue will operate with HVO100, a second-generation biofuel. Criss-crossing Europe, each truck will cover between 9,000 and 10,000 kilometres. From mid-season onwards, the generators at the race track that supply the engineering trucks with electricity will also run on biofuel.

2023 #dtm season begins at Oschersleben

The start of the new #dtm season is imminent. This weekend, the #racing series launches into its 37th year, and for the first time, it will be contested under the aegis of the ADAC. The season opener will be staged at the Motorsport Arena #oschersleben, which has been absent from the #dtm race calendar since 2015. A Mercedes-AMG car has won six of the 18 #dtm races held at the circuit near Magdeburg to date, making it the most successful constructor at this particular venue.

This year, Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing will be supplying no fewer than six GT3 cars to teams who are considered strong contenders for race wins and the title itself. The Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver trio of Lucas Auer (AUT), Maro Engel (GER) and Luca Stolz (GER) will spearhead the line-up, supported by Mercedes-AMG Junior Drivers Arjun Maini (IND), Jusuf Owega (GER) and David Schumacher (GER). The Customer #racing teams already gave an indication of the enormous potential of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 during the official tests at Spielberg where Engel topped the table at the end of the two-day test and Maini set the third-fastest time.

24h Nürburgring: For the third year in a row, Mercedes-AMG has scored a podium finish in the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. After temporarily holding the lead, Philip Ellis (SUI), Raffaele Marciello (SUI) and Luca Stolz (GER) of Mercedes-AMG Team BILSTEIN finished third overall. Their team-mates Hubert Haupt (GER), Jordan Love (AUS) and Arjun Maini (IND) took a class podium, finishing eighth overall. Adam Christodoulou (GBR), Maximilian Götz (GER) and Fabian Schiller (GER) in the number 2 Mercedes-AMG of Team GetSpeed secured fourth place in the general classification. The two Mercedes-AMG GT2s of Mercedes-AMG Teams HRT and Schnitzelalm also completed the full race distance to make it a one-two triumph in the SPX class.

On the occasion of the endurance classic, AMG and the Nürburgring, in the person of Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, and Christian Stephani, Managing Director of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG, announced an extension to their existing partnership until 2026. AMG thus secures extensive advertising and naming rights to the legendary race track. The AMG VIP Lounge above the pit lane offers a perfect view of the action, and the AMG Showroom will also await all visitors to the ring°boulevard directly next to the start and finish straight in the coming years. In addition, the Affalterbach-based constructor is making its sports cars available for various driver training courses and special offers at the Nürburgring. One of the flagships of the long-standing cooperation is the "Beast of the Green Hell" developed on the Nordschleife - the Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO, with which co-pilot drives through the Green Hell are also offered. The contract runs until 2026, concluding a total of 10 years of cooperation between the two brands.

GT World Challenge America: Team RealTime #racing took two class wins on the third race weekend of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Anthony Bartone and Andy Pilgrim (both USA) sharing the cockpit of the #43 Mercedes-AMG GT3 won the Am class in both races.

GT America: The GT America powered by AWS was also on the billing in Austin. Victory in both races went to Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing. George Kurtz (USA) in the number 04 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Crowdstrike by Riley won the first race and finished third in the second. Winner in the weather-affected Race 2 was Jason Daskalos at the wheel of the #27 CRP #racing Mercedes-AMG GT3. He had already contributed to a one-two finish for Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing by claiming the runner-up spot in the first race.

GT4 America: Michai Stephens (USA) and Jesse Webb (CAN) also made a podium appearance on the third GT4 America race weekend at the Circuit of the Americas. In the first of the two one-hour races, they finished second in the #34 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Conquest Racing/JMF Motorsports.

ESET Cup Series: The Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing teams celebrated multiple podium finishes in their classes on the third weekend of the ESET Cup Series at Spielberg. Libor Milota (CZE) in the #2 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Team GT2 Motorsport finished the two sprint races on Sunday in second and third place in his class. GT4 outfit LEMA #racing lifted three trophies courtesy of Matej Kosič and Andrej Lah (both SLO).

Sportscar Championship Canada: In the Sportscar Championship Canada season opener at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Demitria Chalkias and Marc Lafleur (both CAN) each driving a Mercedes-AMG GT4 finished second and third in their class in all three rounds. In the first two races, Chalkias had the additional satisfaction of a P2 and a P3 in the general classification.
