For the past decade and more, the Red Bull Ring has successfully profiled itself as a showcase location for some of the biggest international motor racing series.

With just a few months to go before this year's "Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich" gets underway, Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and Mark Mateschitz have reaffirmed their commitment to the Steiermark region by extending the partnership between the circuit and the series owners until 2030.

This means home fans can look forward to many more years of MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 in the heart of this red-white-red motorsport-loving country.

More than a million MotoGP fans since 2016

Traditionally held in August, the MotoGP weekend at the Red Bull Ring attracts hundreds of thousands of fans to Spielberg, where they celebrate their shared passion for motorsport. Well over a million of them have come through the gates since 2016.

In the run-up to this year's Austrian Grand Prix, Carmelo Ezpeleta and Mark Mateschitz have signed a contract extension until 2030. The success story that began at Spielberg is set to continue. The last time that the Dorna Sports CEO sat down with the circuit's owner to negotiate an agreement was in 2019, when the late Dietrich Mateschitz was in charge.

That contract was due to run until 2025. With Carmelo Ezpeleta's renewed strong commitment to the Austrian race track and to Steiermark, he is also honouring the legacy of the Red Bull founder.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO Dorna Sports: "We're very happy to announce that the Austrian Grand Prix will be on the calendar until 2030. Not only is it one of the world's most beautiful racetracks, it also delivers an incredible weekend for fans with fantastic facilities, great entertainment events, and spectacular racing. The Red Bull Ring has staged some of our most iconic modern moments since the track returned to the calendar. As the home track for KTM and part of Red Bull's incredible commitment to motorsport, it's also an important venue for many of our stakeholders and Austrian motorsport as a whole. We're very happy to announce that we'll be returning until 2030 and look forward to many more years working together."

Motorsport entertainment amid the joys of the open air

The 173,017 spectators who attended the MotoGP weekend in August 2023 generated an exuberant atmosphere against the fabulous backdrop of the Austrian Alps.

They enjoyed a show of horsepower from the world's best riders, combined with motorsport entertainment and concerts in MotoGP Bike City. This year, fans will be treated to double the racing action on the weekend of 16th - 18th August, as the contestants vie for world championship points in Saturday's sprint race and the Grand Prix on Sunday.

If you're planning to enjoy this spectacle live and up close, weekend tickets and seats for the race on Sunday are still available, but you need to move fast!
